Continued…trucking is a huge industry. I don’t think I would ever be directly competing with you depending on the state I’m in. I take it…to leave it out of the public forum and direct message for these types of questions? Well at least the competitive questions.

Thank you. Right now with this tractor, it’s keep everything towards the trailer axles. I’m 24k on my drives empty.

If u are running off a load board u are competing against everyone else running off a load board. The cheaper u bid something the cheaper the overall market gets. making it worse for everybody... If your company is just pulling loads off a loadboard u better make sure they are not double brokering it to u for a cheaper price than they are getting it. Unless they are sending u the original rate con rather than their own, you never know.. its in your best interest to learn the market for your trailer, what kind of customer you need to find that have freight that needs to be moved on an extended rgn...thats the trailer you are providing so u or your company needs to find those customers, otherwise whats the point of having that trailer and hauling stepdeck freight... U will never be able to compete with a stepdeck they will run circles around u. Their partial is your full load. Think i mentioned that in my post from earlier. I think u will find, it is a difficult path forward if you really care about adding value to this industry. There is no reason to buy a specialized trailer just to further saturate an over saturated market.. just go hook a reefer and u will make more money in the long run and have less headaches... And i only say that as being a product of my own stupidity and being highly experienced in the stupid decisions ive made in my life.. im not telling you anything i havent experienced first hand myself. And so is every other person in this thread trying to tell you.... But you will learn the hard way like we all had to.

Getting direct customers is something I will approach a year from now. For now, I want to focus on getting my on the job training. I appreciate your honesty!
Today I loaded my first excavator. I felt like I was in Disneyland on that thing! I was blessed to load it at Brunswick and the guy in charge of these things was one of a kind. I believe his name was Terry. I went up to him and told him, I’ve never loaded one and do not know how to drive it. He gave me a free amicable lesson. Literally I bought the ticket to the show on this one! There was no stress and I ended up being over on my drives by 3k (bought that experience as well). Attached are photos of my securement and all replies will be appreciated. I also ordered the master keys.
And yes I knew I would be over on my drives. But the guy was like you will be fine. I was just too grateful for his help on learning the excavator that I couldn’t care less!
I’ve been with this company for over 4 years. They send me original rate cons. But if they wanted to fudge stuff they probably could easily. But they do stupid stuff like this: I will have a military load on Thursday to Alabama. Just over height and weighs just 5k. Load will be 12 high. And let’s just say direct message me for pricing!

A window cover would be advisable. Not all machines have plexi or lexan windows and a window is NOT cheap to replace these days. You could be looking at a grand or more to have a front window replaced.

It's a 320. 51k 10.5 wide. Weather was good today. I'm sure I will have horrible days. But today was a good one. Driving that thing, all I could think was how amazing is this. Getting this experience and change to the monotony of trucking!

I will look into the window covering. Thank you for this.
I didn't know about covering the exhaust. I saw another driver and asked him if he could take a look at my securement. He gave me some tips:
    1. Always cover the exhaust or you will mess up the turbo. I have to order the exhaust cover. Picture attached. Not sure it's proper name.
    2. The tracks the (bearings?/wheels?) not sure what they are called but the need to be on the trailer or I need to use outriggers.
