The RV looked to be minding his own business just riding along in the right lane when the SLOW truck jumped out there and jammed up the hammer lane....I thought the RV'er was more than courteous being he backed out of it to let that door knob back over.....
Wow. Do you not have anything else to do, man? Do you hate Swift that much that you have to "make fun" of what they're hauling? Are things that bad for you? Who gives a f%^ what's inside the trailers? They get paid the same whether it's toilet paper or tires or Wal*Mart freight. I hauled a load of "shhh" a few nights ago and my pay was the same that night that it was the previous night when I pulled a load of "shhhh" down the highway. And the weight difference was about 35,000 lbs. Getting paid is all that matters here. I've hauled nothing on several occasions and got the same pay. Some people just have too much time on their hands to dream of ways to get on other trucking companies. And most of it unfounded and makes the complainer look foolish. How many Swift trucks do you guys pass? Who really cares? I'm glad that I can roll down the road at max cruise and not have to worry where 5-0 is sitting because I don't even go the posted speed limit. Does it suck sometimes? Sure. I do feel like I'm getting nowhere, but that's just how it is. I just don't the excitement people get when they feel the need to find anything they can to bash another company. That's just my venting at this. I doubt I'll get a mature response for my response and that will just solidify my thoughts.
That's why I just set the cruise on 62-63 and stay in the right lane, hopefully out of everyone's way. What I hate is when I move over to let someone on the highway and they stay in my blind spot, refusing to let me back over! Every time it happens, I swear I am not going to move over for anyone ever again! But I guess I am just too #### courteous, because I always move over!
I don't hate Swift trucks or drivers, but I think it is ridiculous that the slow driving truck companies think they are saving so much fuel by driving slow. I don't think it is going to be that different between 60 and 70. My log hauler gets 6-6.25 mpg with the pedal on the floor and running 70 to 75 with 4:33 gears, and 25% of my driving is in the woods and on little back road shifting and crawling hills. Also, I crank my truck in the morning and never kill it, whether I'm sitting for 5 minutes or an hour. I know I run heavier than Swift trucks(82,000-88,000 lbs) and I know they don't run low gears. So, I'm just saying. LMAO
1. you are mty half the time. I don't know what logging in LA is like but hauling logs in Cali- 2. You don't have much wind resistance- nice low loads usually cab high. 3. You can't run 70+ off the pavement, which is where a high percentage of your time is spent. useless comparison.
Ever heard of a sense of humor? The comments were sort of tounge in cheek but the fact that they offended you so much leads my to the conclusion that maybe they struck a nerve...
