Opening weekend of deer season this weekend. Headed out this morning and the thermostat on my pickup went out. Think it’s stuck open. Then got to the trailhead and there were 8 pickups there. Turned around and just came home. Can’t seem to win lately.

Can’t remember who sang it, Poet Voices maybe? “With just a whispered “Peace be still”, He can settle every sea, but it doesn’t mean He will, sometimes He holds us close, and let’s the wind and waves go wild, Sometimes He calms the storm, and other times, He calms His child.” You’ve had some misfortunes in the last year with breakdowns, some family drama, etc, maybe it’s time to take a long vacation with no phone, just you and nature. It’s hunting season, that’s about the best therapy you can get! Above all, never forget we can’t see the long term picture like God can. We see the trouble we are facing “right now”. He sees eternity. Discouragement is real, I know this firsthand, but there are better days coming!
