It would be a shame if someone accidentally put duct tape over his headlights while he was parked showing high beams.

Heck, there was a time when drivers would turn their headlights off when backing into a spot. I still find myself doing this automatically nearly 25 years since I last backed a trailer into a dock...

Some of the newer trucks have those “Day” running lights, so if them turn off the main headlights, driving lights stay on and some individuals replace them with HID which make those daylights brighter.

On my last two trucks, the DRLs were incandescent bulbs. When I figured out they only lasted about 2 months before they burnt out, I took them out. Last thing I need is for the cops to see only one of those lit and use that as a reason to see what else they can find.

They’re LEDs on my current truck and they only go out when you pop the brakes.

Those daytime lights are the law up here. Those hid lights are awful, they may be brighter but I find they aren’t any better to see with. The contrast of super bright and the shadows they make makes for eye strain IMO. They have the added bonus of blinding everyone else in the tri county area
