    That proves what?
Obviously you don’t like something that I posted so just ignore my replies next time.

Or..just try proving me wrong, I got no problem learning something new.

You’re trying to prove that blacks aren’t targeted more for jaywalking than whites…show me some evidence..

I did respond to your replies. Jaywalking is a stupid charge most of the time. I'm retired LE. Did 27 years, most of it in patrol. Became a trucker in 2016. I have a hard time believing blacks are targeted by police because I never did..didn't care what color someone was..but..I'm not doubting you that those officers are out there. I knew one for a fact that I supervised that I got terminated. Thats a long story I had to write several letters on him and finally got the video evidence needed to get him gone. All that stuff I mentioned happened to me when I was in my late teens early 20's. I could go on amd on about the problems inn the black community and what I saw..not only there but the lower derelicts of society of all races...white trash ncludedI. had some bad run ins with officers back then and when I became one I vowed not to be one of those. I did find that "those" are few and far between. Most of the officers I worked with were good , brave people. I can count on 1 hand the crappy ones in 27 years.
I'm really too tired to get into a long winded debate about race, blacks, the police etc. Been a long day. Really.sick.of it.
As far as the op she wont have a problem getting into trucking with those charges, jaywalking and disorderly conduct ain't nothing. I ran into a guy when I worked at May trucking who did 10 years for drug trafficking.. Another I knew did 6 years for robbery so the op is in like flint. Also FYI, a traffic ticket is technically an arrest. Signing the tix is like signing your bond and agreeing to pay it or appear in court before the court date.

I am actually white. I just pretty blatantly jaywalked. Don’t know if that would even be considered on a background check. The other issues though… I just don’t know. Not like they are violent theft drug sex related and they are the lowest misdemeanors possible

Yeah I did something idiotic- it was the middle of the night and a completely empty road. The night before someone had thrown a rock out of their car window and hit me so I was afraid to be in the dark. So I literally walked down the center of the street to stay in the street lights. The only car that came by was a cop. It was stupid of me but it really was because I was trying to stay safe walking late at night. Guilty of jaywalking. Hearing that others have had much more serious charges and were able to get into trucking gives me some hope !! I have four charges though so I don’t know what a company will say and yes not good- very bad- work history. Thanks for being a cop. Even though I did some bad stuff (poor decision making on my part) I love cops very much.

I wasn’t arrested for jaywalking. It was a citation but still a misdemeanor four in Ohio.

I am working a job right now to save up for a car- I currently don’t have one. I actually will do that when I have a car. I figure it will take me an entire year to save the money for a car and for cdl school, which actually kind of works since I’m on reporting probation until June 2026 anyway. I just need to find a path out of working fast food at 43.

The jaywalking is a BS charge that isn’t going to hurt your chances..getting speeding tickets, cellphone tickets and a whole host of others will.

I worked for a company that hired 2 guys that were freshly paroled for 2nd degree murder..trust me, your legal issues are not all that bad. Just focus on keeping your job until your in person probation ends..

There are companies that will hire you. May trucking PTL and Western Express come to mind. You gotta start somewhere. Chinatown scan help you with this. You said you had traffic tickets over 3 years ago, how many and for what?
Also you may qualify for your cdl training at your local community college if they offer it, thats what I did. They should have all the info you need for a grant. 2 people in my class of 4 went for free on a grant.
Thank you for appreciating my career as an officer, I enjoyed it. It was tough but I knew what I signed up for. I hope I made some kind of difference somewhere.
You came to the right message board for advice, there is a lot of good experienced folks here as well eager to help. Best of luck and peace be with you.
