Don't be so sensitive.
I was referring to the whole Forum -- & not your thread here.
As a truck driver -- you will have to show/develop a tougher backside than that, to make it ok in the CDL world.
Later on, a sense of humor will help out -- A LOT.
Especially if you can laugh at yourself....& your mistakes.

I wish I saw humor in my mistakes !! Right now embarrassed by the criminal history and worried no truck driving company will take me with that and the poor employment history. Plus too- if they run a five year driving history it will show an accident, missing tail light and operating an unsafe vehicle. Nothing on three year mvr.

Plenty of folks start driving well into their 50s, so if it takes a bit to get things straightened out - don't stress.
Try and look long term - you may be basic crew right now, but there are always options to move up. Picking up a second part time gig is also a solid option - looks good to outsiders and will help you start building a nest egg. -
I don't know if someone else has pointed this out yet or not, sorry for missing it if someone has, but, you can actually have it both ways if you get hired by the right company. Reimbursing you a little bit at a time on every paycheck for cdl school that you paid for yourself is a pretty common perk. Ask around about that and what their policies may be.

Do you think the five year driving history will rule me out as a driver? Nothing on three year. Wreck on five year- not severe, sideswiped a truck on a highway. Missing a tail light and operating an unsafe vehicle. But those are all older than three years, will be even older by the time I try to attend truck school. That, along with the poor employment history and criminal record. Although I just read western express hires felons straight out of prison so maybe I might have a chance there. I just don’t want to pay for cdl school and then never be able to find a job.

If you continue to focus on past mistakes....that will only make you miserable.
Instead -- focus on being a better/smarter person....going forward.
I was out of "regular" employment for several years -- yet I still found a CDL carrier that would hire & train me.
Fast forward to now -- 5+ years later, I have a very recession-resistant job.....as a truck driver.
You can (later) do the same...if you focus...& stop it with the job hopping & quitting.

Missing a taillight isn't a moving violation and sounds like you had a minor accident. You won't know until you call some of those places and chances are you are good.
-
they are also over three years old. Not sure exactly of when but they are all four to five years old. The only moving violation, other than the minor wreck, would be the operating an unsafe vehicle.smokey12 Thanks this.

No, doesn't sound like anything disqualifing.smokey12 Thanks this.

Answer the questions on the application EXACTLY. If the question is: list all accidents in the previous 3 years, don't list 4,5,6 years old accidents.
gentleroger and lual Thank this.
