I mentioned the MH vs RV because you’ll have to check the correct box on the mv1.

    Lol, I had a 31’ motor home…we called it a camper!

To retitle a commercial truck to an RV in Wisconsin, you must complete the conversion to meet RV specifications, gather the required documents (title, registration, weight slip, and a statement of fact), and apply for a new title with the Wisconsin DMV. You'll need to prove the vehicle is now a self-contained, habitable RV with at least four of the six life-support systems listed in the application. The conversion must be finished, and then you can apply online for a new title and registration through the Wisconsin DMV.
    1. Convert the vehicle
    • Ensure the truck meets the criteria for a "permanently installed and independent life support system." You will need at least four of the following: cooking, refrigeration or icebox, self-contained toilet, heating and/or air conditioning, potable water supply, and a separate electrical supply (110-125 volt) or LP gas supply.
    • Remove any commercial markings or equipment that might suggest it's still a commercial vehicle, such as company logos or trailer airlines.
    • It's recommended to remove the commercial fifth wheel and the "NOT FOR HIRE" sticker.
    2. Gather necessary documents
    • Proof of ownership: The current title or dealer purchase papers.
    • Statement of fact: A document that lists all the improvements you have made to convert the vehicle into an RV. You can get this from the DMV.
    • Certified weight slip: Obtain this from a truck stop, landfill, or other company with a certified scale.
    • Proof of insurance: You will need proper RV insurance for the new title.
    3. Apply for the new title
    • Go to the Wisconsin DMV website.
    • Apply for a new title and register your vehicle online.
    • Submit the required documents to complete the process.
    • This process will be completed with your new vehicle's status as an RV for both the DMV and insurance companies.

    • Title and register your vehicle ... - Wisconsin DMV Official Government Site
Apply online for both title AND transfer existing plates. Wisconsin and out-of-state titles can be used to apply online. Use this ...

i was gonna say, not likely they’d ever change a VIN number. Not sure that’s even possible as it’s a federal thing that’s permanently engraved all over the vehicle.

They might not like it if the commercial hitch is still on it even if the other criteria are met. A light duty RV hitch to pull a 5th wheel trailer is a common retrofit.
