My company does that all the time and it is quite nice. Last week my steers were at 6/32 in one spot. I new they were getting close but decided to give it a week or two before writing them up. I went home for the night and when I returned the next day two new steer tires magically appeared on my truck without me saying a word.

Not gonna lie, as a company driver in a small satellite yard, I’m jealous of the maintenance. I’d take them taking it and working on it on my days off, over never being able to work on things.

I mean... its the same people that pull it in anyway when you go to a shop. Hell, probably better when youre on hometime since youre not wasting a day of driving. I always took anything valuable home too.Friend, Trucker61016, hope not dumb twucker and 7 others Thank this.

The only downside, if you come in expecting to load up and go only to find that when they took your truck in, it will need to go to the dealer for something that the company shop couldn't handle, or, it's still in the company shop when you get there, then you have to bail on a load. In @drvrtech77's case, he comes all the way from the Houston area all the way to our Wilmer terminal to start his tour. It would suck to show up and not have his truck available after he had already been planned on a load and drove that far to get rolling.Friend, Knucklehead, Trucker61016 and 5 others Thank this.

I’ve had that happen three times last year that’s why I got Ostergard and Kutter involved after that the shop manager knew I wasn’t screwing around. He got a surprise three-way call with me and Kutter on the linencmickey, Trucker61016 and hope not dumb twucker Thank this.

Already have a preplan. After I drop this load at one of the Bentonville Wally warehouses, I head to Tyson in Fayetteville to load going to Commerce City for Wednesday evening. It shows a pickup window like it's a drop/hook but the load info says it's a live load, so we shall see. It's another 850 miles, but delivers Wednesday evening, so unless I get a beer run, not sure they will have any runs that can be completed by Friday evening, but it does give me 2650 by Wednesday night, so, that's a livable week either way...we will see what transpires.
