And reread some of the points made by RickG.
It's things that most noobies do NOT want to hear, but it IS the truth !!! -
I disagree
-
Why?, look my point is as simple as this.......
I could sit in a pile of s%^$ and be angry as hell about the situation
or
I could sit in a pile of s%^$ and be happy as hell about the situation
who is the winner? The one who finds peace and realises what he or she needs to do to get to the next point of their own Agenda WINS. Doing time is an art form, it's something in life if you figure out, you'll get to where you want to be........ie stay out of their crossfire because there will always be gunfightsred_house Thanks this. -
Go ahead and disagree, but I will give you a tip. You might want to listen to drivers that has been up and down the road a few times before you base your assumtions.
JustSonny Thanks this. -
One of the worse things on here is brand new drivers offering advice. True some have a good outlook and are informed, but if I was going to go to all the trouble to invest my time and money in a school and look to get and stay in trucking I would listen to the guys that has been doing this for awhile. Nothing personal against you new guys, but you have a lot to learn. Just like the newbie with 2 months exp leased on to CRE. Spouting his advice to wannabes. I wonder just how many will bail broken hearted and broke on account of him.

Ah, the satisfaction of proving someone to be unfounded and over-presumptuous. One month in, 9,500 miles down. With two stretches of home time in there. I made more in the past month than I would have made in two and a half in the kitchen and still almost 2 should I have been granted my former management position, working so much my hometime wouldn't have been any better. But then again, my boss hadn't been talking about actually giving me the promotion until this fall. So where am I for being a trucker now? WAY better. Get over it, those that only #####. This job is still viable. The industry is not going to fall off the face of the earth and people are always going to be coming and going. I'm looking at over 45k for this first 12 month period. Woot.

Congrates man, I too have left the restaraunt industry! I was a chef, worked a shi% load of hours for not enough money and yeah my home time was really before 10:30 A.M. or after 12:30 A.M., wow great home time huh? My last gig was the Inn at Little Washington, great kitchen, #### wages!
And for all the old timers we newbies DO listen to all the advice but after a while you just kinda put one and one together, if it's that bad why are they STILL in the industry. Not only that, some of the guys griping but not leaving the industry probably are not the most stellar of employees either.
The only way anyone will get the same outcome that the complainers are getting is to react and emulate them in everyway and I'd like to believe the chance of that happening is way too high indeed. So say what you will, I drive my ship, I will be optimistic about life and I will be Happy and for that matter I will be part of the solution not the problem. If people want my help great, if not, great.jessegobrowns and Saddle Tramp Thank this.
