I only drove 10spds before and when I went back through CDL school last summer we used an 18spd in a day cab Pete and it was easy to learn how to shift it. During class we never used the splitter(grey switch) but as I drove more the instructor allowed me to mess around the gears. We were in a 2025 Pete day cab pulling a 40' lowboy flatbed empty so the truck could not really perform like the 18 spd needed but it was fun to run through the gears.
Will companies train on driving a 13/18 speed?
