    That is from the trucking industry perspective.

    There is a perspective of analyzing freight without considering the trucks whatsoever, and that is known as Freight Volume.

    BTS has always been by the ton, broke into commodity. But use any calculation that you want to.
    Maybe check on how it's actually done.

    That is Freight Volume. The amount of tons needing to be shipped is called Freight Volume.

    Read the article in the original post of this thread. How would you define Freight Volume as referenced in that particular article?

    And Cass is right in there with Freightwaves and the others that pull rate/load info mainly from the factoring arena.

    Again define Freight Volume. No one calculating using volume, we are calculating what the Freight Volume is, which ultimately has nothing whatsoever to do with trucks.

    I’m worn out from mountains and fog and wrong way driver to keep me on my toes..may need to visit an Asian massage parlor after I deliver tomorrow :)

    Don't believe you understand where a company like Cass, Lean and others get there info.
    They get that info from the shippers that they do freight audits for. They have no info on other shippers. Not a very accurate indicator.
    Have/had customers that used those services.
