    Hi everyone,
As a British driver with 20+ years driving UK and Europe and 3 years here in Canada its getting increasingly hard to find work driving Canada only. I'ts not that I dont want to cross into the US, it's because I'm waiting for my landed status for Canadian Permenant Residence and told by Immigration Canada not to leave the country unless its for vacation to England, and thats only for a 2 week period at a time once a year.
I'ts taken almost 3 and a half years to get this far. And no I'm not using lawyers my wife and I are doing this on our own.
I could cross into the States but the open work permit I have is no guarentee that I will be allowed back into Canada. Trust me it has happened to me but were able to prove my status and allowed back...that was at Sarnia.
I'm hoping someone from a Canadian company will see this or someone could give me some advice on how to proceed form here.

Is anyone hiring anywhere right now, especially in Toronto area...guess not. I've sent email after email, left my number with a multitude of employers large and small and guess what...they dont answer back....any of them... and here I am thinking that Canada, just like the rest of the world is short on drivers and employers cant be bothered to answer back. A short email just saying "sorry but no jobs right now" would be nice.
I have 23 years OTR and nothing, or a promise they will call me tomorrow..I dont want empty promises I want that call either way it goes. I'm sorry for venting my splein but its so frustrating.
