I never said I was a newb, just looking for people who do Family Dollar. That's got to be thousands and thousands of drivers both past and present. I thought about what forum this belong in- not flatbed, not oilfield not LTL. Just wanted to talk to Family Dollar drivers...?
Let's talk the Family Dollar account

From what we have seen here drivers do not typically stay on that account, mainly they run you ragged for minimum money. Your certainly welcome around here, and if your happy doing those loads no one here will try to stop you. Just not typically a load drivers want to stay on. Good luck and God bless/

That just says it all right there.

US Xpress works the #### out of their drivers on that account for an average of 1200 a week before taxes. No, family. That's not enough for me to touch freight

Thanks, Powder Joints
The turnover is high for sure. My trainer seemed like the seasoned vet and he has been on the account for two years. I had another trainer doing it for one year.
Still, I've seen women on the account. Other olds like me. (I might be the oldest)
I did my first trailer and it was exhausting. 20 degree temperatures. I checked my body the next day and it wasn't sore. No injuries. I really think I can do this. Incredible workout. Losing weight.
Always escaping with my Bluetooth headphones. There is a true art to getting as much done with mechanical advantage as possible.
I pretty much have to (and, want to) do two trailers per week. I think the most that is possible is two trailers one week and three trailers the next. More might require some magic I don't want to get into. -
Worst thing about that IMHO is the trick some of these dollar stores are to get in to.
CamryXSE and BrothaTrucka513 Thank this. -
I imagine US Express pays a lot more in the Midwest. How hard can you push drivers when they're already prone to quit?
I come with some advantages. I've learned over the years how to intentially dress for cold weather (no cotton anything against your skin. Layers, no snowmobile suits. Etc) Had a winter in North Dakota. Winter drills with the military.
Long time Planet Fitness member.
A lot of people can't or won't do it. At my age, I love just the fact that I can. Core workout. Feels great

Yep, that might be the worst thing- backing. God knows how new drivers are doing this account!?

I’ve seen a few where one car parked in the wrong place for whatever reason means you can’t get to the door.CamryXSE Thanks this.

That's easy to imagine.
Idk, I feel like my approach has changed. I've married a lifestyle, hopefully for a few years. Winter gauntlet of ice and snow.
I'm just going to take the obstacles as they come, one at a time. If all my delivery times are late due to circumstances beyond my control? Not to stress, not too much. Whenever I do get out of any situation there will be the next trailer to pickup. Mid December now, March is coming. July will be a whole nether matter.tscottme Thanks this.
