This is probably true, but truck drivers most of the time are making about twice a week what they are so I try not to let it bother me.

You mean to tell me.......if you go to the Pilot, fill up your coffee cup, go to the counter, and they say, "You're good, have a nice day," and send you along, you're going to insist to pay for your coffee out of fear of "appearing leftist?" You ain't gonna tell me that you've never got a coffee or soda FREE of charge to you at the truck stop because every driver has at one point or another.

Yes, it's a gesture. So is "the bird". I'm not sure which of these 2 gestures says more about the opinion they hold about their drivers....

    Lonesome Thanks this.

Yeah well....... I don't too much care about how they feel about me. If I fall off the earth tomorrow, someone else will be in this seat here. Why should I care about their opinions? At the end of the it's a job. My purpose here is to make a living, not seek affirmation/validation. Gotta keep it in perspective. If they want to feed me hot dogs, I'll say pass the ketchup and mustard and be grateful that I can hold on to my food in my truck for a meal longer, or save a few dollars from buying a meal that day.

It just kills with laughter me that truckers think they should get some sort of red carpet treatment or something. So many drivers act like they are free agents in the NFL and companies are supposed to court them for their services. The egos truckers have is amazing.
