First rule of shooting any weapon is to know what is behind your target.

 

There’s no cure for stupidity.

 

Sad thing, but a murder charge not warranted. Maybe manslaughter.

 

Obviously proof of safe gun handling education is not a prerequisite to buying a gun,, so literally any moron can buy a gun

 

and in a lot of states any moron can concealed carry without a permit or training.

 

Generally you would go to a range that has a PIT that you would shoot into with targets mounted.. Discharging a firearm within a municipality is generally considered to be criminal in all states.. unless in designated areas or ranges..

 

Reminds me of a story, when I lived in rural Wisconsin, a cop shows up one day, says the neighbors horse was killed, do I know anything about it. I said, well, officer, I don't have any guns, so can't be me. Turns out, the father, while target shooting hit the horse, AND HE WAS A VETERINARIAN!!!
