IMG_3123.jpeg IMG_3124.jpeg How do I remove the 6 bolts along the side of the exhaust?? The 3 in the center I got out but the others have that weird circular thing in the rear. I need to change my exhaust mount at the top.

Looks like a rivnut or some other kind of pressed in thread insert. If its just spinning in the bracket youll have to try to grab it with a vice grips and probably replace it before reinstalling the heat shield.

Can you remove the nuts on the clamps visible at the bottom of your second picture? Looks like the exhaust shield is attached to those.

I've put a vice grip on my inners and held it while I screwed the bolts out with my drill. Try to avoid hitting the truck with the vice grips. Hold on tight, maybe put a towel for some cushion on the truck in case you lose grip.

That's what I ended up doing was putting vice grips on it and doing it that way. I was gonna do what @Razororange suggested but then putting it back on would have been more difficult. I think I could've replaced the bushing without taking the heat shield off though..... I just seen someone took it off to replace it online.

Think they can be replaced without the guard coming off? These done good, they've lasted almost 10 years.

Yes they can. You might need a few extentions and a universal joint on your ratchet. There was 2 of us cuz I needed 4 hands.
