I’m a causal follower of this group. I don’t post because frankly it’s a thread about company guys making over 100k. I’m not a company driver. So I’m irrelevant. I don’t think any one in here is bull ####ing. I think most are hustlers and 75% of otr guys frankly are not. I also don’t think every driver deserves to make 100. A lot of them are overpaid as it is.
The six-figure club.

If someone likes staying out on the road for long periods that is great. I personally don’t want to be gone more than a night or two at a time but everyone is different. Some truckload guys I know who do very well have no desire to do any other type of work and that’s what they like. As others have stated if an experienced safe professional driver, doesn’t want to do truckload OTR freight there are many driving jobs that $100,000 is the low end and $150,000 and up is very doable. It is definitely a slower time to get one of those jobs now compared to a couple years ago, but they still exist and demand will come back eventually at those places not currently hiring. Usually many of the best paying jobs require some form of “paying your dues” working your way up the ladder with less than desirable work schedules and or load destinations. The good part about seniority based jobs is it gets better every year if you stick it out.jmz, ElmerFudpucker, Rugerfan and 1 other person Thank this.

I may be wrong but I feel like @gentleroger went from an OTR Truckload guy to an LTL driver. Maybe he will give his perspective of the change.

I try to post receipts when possible to back up what I say, and you can see from the last check I posted that I absolutely run hard when I can. Worked nearly 74 hours to get that last check. But I also started over this year, so I don’t have tons of vacation and weekends off. As @Banker mentioned, I’m in a “pay your dues” type of situation, so I’m taking anything I can get while I work my way back up a seniority list.
