Roehl has part time stuff like 4 on 4 off but good luck bringing home more than 600 a week doing that..and slip seating to boot. Hardly worth it...

Google driver leasing services. They are like temp agencies for truck drivers. If you meet the DLS requirements, then they send you to trucking companies for temp work. Usually you tell the DLS what schedule you can work and the DLS fills their daily/weekly needs with the drivers available that day or week. Obviously the more availability you have the easier it is to find you work. The less availability you have the less work they may have for you.

Maybe you have to raise your expectations and reality of the world now ....you may have to do 3 or 4 days a week ....even part time driving positions in my area have a minimum requirement for availability...like 30 hours or more....

Get on spare board on line haul with LTL carrier
I declined offer of spare board when I quit but the offer standsTrucker61016 Thanks this. -
Look at smaller carriers. Use the DOT census files to filter carriers by zip code.
Other than regular hours, my carrier (100 power units) offers just what you are looking for. They are in NW Ohio and I simply let them know if I am available for the following day. Generally I work between 1 and 5 days (my choice) and run about 12 hours at an hourly rate. Heck, they even assign a truck to me. Surely there must be a similar situation in your geographic area.Last edited: Jan 3, 2026 at 6:59 PM
