Seems like somebody or other who was famous said something about three types of lies.
    1 - Lies
    2 - ###### Lies
    3 - Statistics

Statistics can be manipulated to show whatever is wanted by the person using them.

I wish someone would make me retire I'm way too old and a little too fat.But they keep hiring me and I can't find no one to feed me.

When, oh WHEN....will some of these journalists, politicians, and others who are of a like-mind get it through their heads:

You can NOT legislate a perfect world.

The first guy I ever rode with to get my truck was 77 years old. Nothing bothered him....he'd pretty much seen it all by then. Good driver, too.

I've also seen a guy with a (I think) green tractor up on I-80 in PA...has a little star on his door with the number "64"....the number of years of safe driving he has under his belt!! Sixty-four!

I will not hesitate to add that I think after a certain age (say 65, for example), one should be required to get a DOT physical every year. But older four-wheelers over a certain age should also be required to pass some tests every two or three years....none of this five and seven year stuff.

I'm a lot more concerned about the kids like the one in Asheville, NC (where I used to live and plan to retire)....16 years old. Brilliant student. Got killed when she wrecked her car while.....yup, checking a ###### text message.

Or the 60-something woman in the newer model Camry who, earlier today, decided to play NASCAR and cut in front of me, completely obscuring the rear of her car beneath my hood line at 64 mph. Three miles later, I was side-by-side with her again. Good thing she picked up that quarter-second.

Man....I'm rather verbose on an empty stomach!

Here in good old Ontario any truck driver over 65 has to take a road test every year. I think I'll take my chances with the 65 year old trucker who has been driving truck for 40 years over the 16 year old who just got their license any day of the week.
