It can be about half a dozen things... that's the problem with the new engines - and the tech's Cummins/Detriot/Cat/Volvo or Freightliner/Peterbilt/Kenworth/Volvo don't really know how to troubleshoot, IMO.

Many of us have that kind of experience! Entire day at Phoenix last fall! They never did figure it out. Gone are the days when good mechanics could listen to an engine and know what was wrong right away. The best could even just listen to what you describe, and know exactly what to check, and in what order! Now they depend on the computers to tell them everything - so if they cannot duplicate your issue on the computer, you're making it up!
Hang in there Slick... best of luck!

Slick, I'm assuming that you just finished training, then signed the lease, yes?

Hope you have some money in the bank, because it's looking like your introduction to being a business-owner is gonna be painful. I really feel for you...

Once you get back on the road, make sure you salt-away as much as you can. You're going to have fat weeks and thin ones... and it really is going to help to have a big fat money cushion.

    Good luck man!

ok, get he trk back from Detroit and check in with lineup. Given a load to aurora, Il. Not the best pay but I want out of SpringMo so I took it. Once loaded I scale out all looks good.
Head out I 44 E, pick up 55 N. All is good with the trk, no more burping, backfiring. Shut down at roadside park ex 63.
Get up and do my morning ritual whicj includes a good PTI. ?? air pressure want come up pass 40psi. Rev engine, nothing. Get out and check air line connections, air lines under trl, nothing. Check gauges still at 40PSI.
internal air break valve?? Wbaiting for service trk.
Now this is a trk that leasing said was road ready? Two loads and so far both of my loads are re-powers due to breakdowns.:biggrin_25513:
Think need to have a come to Jesus meeting with leasing.:biggrin_25516:
