The price of milk is usually terrible at the big truckstop chains, you can get a quart or half gallon for the price you would pay for an entire gallon in most convenience stores.
-
I'm surprised nobody has said copies. Go to kinkos and you can get copies made for less than a nickle...but at the truck stop, it's a quarter per copy.
What else is 5 times as much at a truck stop than it is anywhere else?
-
If I owned a truckstop- I'd offer everything mentioned above at a reasonable price. I wouldn't get rich, but I'd be entertained.
Maybe they are having to charge all the money to hire extra staff to clean up after the drivers and civilian's who make a mess. -
No, It's just every desk jockeys thinking. "If they drive trucks, They have a hard time getting to other stores. So! WE can charge them 5x's more then the other stores because we have them by the balls!"HFC, Mountainman444 and Big Don Thank this.

EXACTLY RIGHT ...
Since trucks are kinda "captured material" and don't have much opportunity to seek out a competitor's business, truck stops know that the drivers don't have much of any other option ...
except ...
when you can park the truck and walk to another competitor ... case in point, Mount Jackson, VA. Down the street from the Sheetz truck stop is a Food Lion when you can get milk for a more reasonable price. -
i remember in oklahoma somewhere theres a loves directly next door to a walmart...not only did i walk to walmart, i took the shopping cart with me to loves to unload into my sleeper (and then returned the cart) haha
