If you decide to go with Roehl, get used to it. It's the seven rules that make everything your fault.

 

Roehl's number one rule....It's always the driver's fault.

Rule two.....The driver is always wrong.

 

I did not see your question answered, so I figured I would try and help.
I live in Jamestown, and I know that at least 1 or 2 Roehl drivers live here.
I see the trucks parked some weekends when they are home. So they should hire flats in Erie also.

Not really calling him a liar but...with his 19 years of experience he should have been pretty high up on the pay scale. In his 2 years there, he didn't make over 23,500 and in my husband's 1st year, right out of school, he made more than that so what Jim posted didn't make sense to me.

As far as what I am....I've spent more time in a Roehl truck than his length of employment for them, so I have a pretty good understanding of how they work.


And no, I don't need to mow the grass because yes, my hubby is home every weekend to do that.

Roehl is like any other trucking company in it to make money. They will give the student, (evo 3) a load a lot faster and cheaper to move freight than some experience driver. Why pay someone .42 cents a mile when you can get the same load moved for .28 cents. I have seen this many times letting exper. drivers set and someone at a cheaper cpm move. Roehl is a good company to get started but after that if you meet all there standards for higher cpm you will watch all the new drivers make the money. Waiting for a load in Gary

 

Makes perfect business sense. I understand it. Other companies do it too. I'm sure... Just one of those things you have to learn to deal with. I'm going in with my head on straight knowing I'm going to get the experience I need and move to some other company that will pay what I'm worth.
I'm not out to take miles from an exp driver, but I'm out there to support my family. Right or wrong I'm not turning down a load because the exp guy should get it.
