First off.....You gotta figure out for yourself just how you look in your clothes you choose to wear.......I'll speak for myself and offer opinion.

I DON'T wear shorts in public....unless at the beach or in a similar setting.
Reasoning.....I tend to sunburn at the drop of a hat and don't wish to suffer the pain involved.

I NEVER wear shorts at work....it's too dangerous...professional appearance doesn't enter into the equation at all.

For those that DO choose to wear shorts of for that matter some loose fitting comfortable pants.........

I DON'T NEED TO SEE YOUR DRAWERS.......I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOUR DRAWERS......

So in that regard........Pull your farking pants up and wear a belt or some suspenders.

The same goes for boots...steel toed boots at that...are a requirement in my work environment.

If I leave the current environment and seek work outside the oilfield...I'll ditch the steel toed boots.....but......I'll still wear boots with non slip soles.....or at least leather shoes with non slip soles......your house shoes or flip flops are just an accident waiting to happen to your feet or ankles.

Shirts....tees are an option....however they need to be clean and reasonably new without stretched out collars and holes and no rude sayings.....no sleevless shirts.....you AINT "Larry the Cable Guy".........wear sleeves.

I guess the bottom line is....dress for the part....but for some of you out there that seem to be having a little trouble finding out just what's acceptable.....get an opinion from your Mom or Grandmother or someone else you respect that's not gonna feed you full of BS about your clothes.

NOW FELLOWS if your trying to but a truck right now i sincerly hope your having better luck then me , i've been tryin for the better part of a year and i find that there is no financing availabel even if you have pristene credit which i do not have by any means thre is no one that wants to finance a truck. as soon as they hear truck they run like a rabbid dog.

o sure there are a lot that advrtise but in reality they all lie in perticular banks who in fact are responsibel for the financil mess we are in, the are the cause and there making it worse they have efectivly locked up the credit market and as far as i can tell no one is abel to buy anything that has anything to do with a truck.

o the banks are still doing business but there doing business over seas not here leving the little guy or new start ups holding the bag and fending for themselves not a good thing but ask a banker if he cares or a finance company they will more likly just ignore you.

now i do search the iternet fo a source of finance id like to buy 5 more trucks used trucks trucks are cheaper now then iv'e ever seen them there aere some real good buys out there but it does still take money and its just not there , i start my search on the net at 6am and don't stop till 9pm and all that is there is trash , scams , and just outright lies and i've been at this for over a year, dosen't sound real good and nothing is changing it pretty much stays the same .

so if your planning on tring to buy a truck GOOD LUCK your going to have a rough time of it and i don't see it changing any time soon unless the goverment steps in and i've never seen the goverment do any thing good for the small business man like always they just don't care we didn't donate to there political agenda.

so if your trying to buy a truck prepare yourself it's going to be rough.
but i wish you great success in your endeavor'

    sweat pants
greasy "I haven't showered this month yet" hair
loud and disrespectfull to the waitresses
Pajama's (I actually saw a woman a few weeks ago who had the greasy hair, pajama's and pink fuzzy bunny slipers and were are dirty as her hair walking around the truckstop and go figure her boyfriend was greay and had the sweat pants with holes everywhere)
oh, and what's with the 5 gallon bladder buster fountain soda cups??? #### I hate that

Was at nucor steel a while back. I had all my ppe on safety glasses, long sleeve shirt, hard hat, ear plugs, long pants, full covered shoes. the driver in front of me, loading outside, had flip flops on, tank top, & shorts. he got loaded & no one said anything to him. I would not go into a steel mill like that even if I could.

Dress right people..Ive seen people that I wouldn't even let look at our rig. Not swiftys just plain ol truck drivers. I dress right and for the job even tho I don't do much. But when you step out that truck it's YOU that is being represented and that name on the door.. If a cowboy steps out then my hats off to him for dressing right..Not the guy with sweatpants and the faded football shirt from a super bowl anybody barely even remembers.

now i just read a post where the guy seems to think I'm wealthy and he didn't think i would need to finance a truck , and i really don't think the guy was trying to be smart at least i didn't take it that way in fact i found a little humor in it.

well I'm going to try to reply to that , first although I'm glad i sound like that but i am not wealthy i have to bust my but to make it just like the rest of you, true i have more then one truck but i also have the bills to go with them, they are all used trucks and they come with used truck maintenance if fact there pretty old but they are mine no finance company involved and I'm not trying to finance a truck that will
never happen again i am trying to borrow money to buy more trucks but what I'm trying to do is borrow as a personal loan so i can pay cash for the trucks not an easy thing to do.

and as a lot of us over the years i have pretty much destroyed my credit so it's not an easy thing to accomplish and as a matter of fact i have not been Abel to do it the credit market is as far as i can tell is locked up tight the banks have chosen to do there banking in over seas markets not here so it's ruff but ill get it done. the only time you lose is when you quit and I'm not about to quit.

why do i want more trucks ? simple , money if i had 20 trucks i could keep them all loaded and make more money i think thats what it's all about making money. but it is tough in these times, i was lucky enough to find three great drivers that i think are great but as it stands right now were still waiting for something positive to happen, and the drivers can't wait they have family's to take care of .

but hopefully something will break pretty soon this is the last month for my cooperation it is time to renew it and it will not be renewed what a joke that was a total waste of money and contrary to popular belief is absolutely worthless in todays times no one Will do business with a cooperation period.

but I've got three trucks located that are exceptional buys along with twenty trailers so it's just a matter of time , but wealthy nope not quite but I'm working on it .

all have a safe ride , southernpride :biggrin_25514:
