Well my wife is seeing a neuro surgeon on the 18th. Southern Cal wants the truck back in B'ham. Will be leaving Thursday to go back and pick up my car. Wife wants to go back with me. They have been great through this whole process and have given us both a 12 week medical leave of absence.
We will miss driving however Birdii's health is the most important thing for us. We thank you for the prayers and concerns and will keep everyone updated

    Thank You All
    Mickey & Birdii

:biggrin_25514:Just a quick update. We got a load back to B'ham to bring the truck back and pick up our car. Upon returning to the yard the G.M. came out and spoke with us and decided to let me run solo and return back to Vegas whenever needed to get my wife to all of her dr. appts. She's allowed to stay in the truck with me which is really cool as when we took this job we put everything into storage, and we have a german sheperd.
Since then we have run up to Columbus, OH then picked up in Cincinnati and are now sitting in Vernon, CA and will be back in Vegas by Monday for all of her dr. appts next week.
I am really grateful to So. Cal for allowing me to work solo for the time being. Please keep in mind this company is a team operation company. I would say 95pct. of our freight in transit freight meaning the load must avg. 50mph the whole trip. So in allowing me to run solo is rare. But more importantly it keeps me working and my wife to be covered by our insurance. And the added bonus of not losing our home IE. the truck.
    So Cal. Thank You

Mickey, That's great to hear. You don't find many companies that will do this for an employee in todays world. They would rather cast you aside and find someone else to take over for you. I applaud So Cal for their help in your situation. Hope things go well for your wife when you see the Dr. Let me know how things go. I will lift you up in prayer.

It really is wonderful to hear of a company that actually believes in AND is willing to go that extra mile to help their employees. Hats off to them and will keep Birdii and you in my thoughts.

Yes it is unusual as they normally for reading will throw you under the bus! Mickey I believe Birdii has had her surgery. Take it from me I had brain surgery Feb 22. It was NOT fun!If she goes the same way I di she's going to have memory problems and vision problems and my surgery was for a "little" tumor on the bottom of my right front temporal lobe. it was only 1/2'x7/8"x 1/2" and I'm still having problems riding in the car! Bumps and the scenery moving by and turns are real vertigo killers!

I hope you might have somewhere that she can stay for a few months if she experiences this as it's really hard to cope with and I've been trucking for 32 years and I also ride motorcycles which I had to sell due to having to file bankrupcy! All this started from cancer in 2008 and it's been a freaking rollercoaster ride ever since!

Prayers for Birdi to have a fast recovery as I bet she's still in the hospital or just got out.

We are still seeing Dr's. She has her 1st visit with the surgeon tomorrow morning. They did a 24hr EEG on her yesterday. Nobody seems to be in a hurry and we are of the opinion that they may not want to remove them. They keep saying that they are "slow growing" and that we will check on them in six months with an MRI/MRA.
However we want to find out if they are cancerous or not. They said only 10% are, but we do not want to take that chance. Will keep everyone updated.
Thank You everyone for your prayers
