If I could sign a wife away for a new truck, I might actually consider lease/purchase!:biggrin_2559:

Well; joe they are primed into thinking they should. That way it teaches them responsibility and prime is doing them a big favor by helping them out that way......:biggrin_25522:

If you're not riding the brakes down mountain grades, they should last the llength of the lease - mine are just find after nearly 500,000 miles. Tires are on the operator's ticket - again if you take care of them, the tire fund escrow account should take care of that.

The rest of it is warranty, assuming there isn't any abuse. At least that's my understanding of it.

What do you mean the rest is warranty. You say you have 500k on your truck so who pays if the ac commpressor goes to lunch and there is a 1500.00 bill or the altenator and a 500.00 bill, like I said before the list goes on and on. If you are Leasing a truck why would you pay for it? Just the same as leaseing a house and the roof leaks are you going to pay for it?

Depends on the contract terms, and usually common to have to pay for such things in many industries, including those leasing aircraft and heavy equipment. And yes, many commercial building leases contain provisions for minor repairs to be performed by the tenant as well. Business leases are much different than standard consumer leases, trucking's no different.

But if you can find a truck lease that will cover it, go for it.

Most components are warranted until 600,000 miles. Average lease truck has 400-500,000 miles when turned in.

What kind of crap are you driving?

Of all the "things" you mentioned, the only one on my 455,000-mile truck to go out was an alternator - covered 100% by warranty. Oh yeah... tires steers and drives... and the usual batch of light bulbs, and I replace my windshield wipers every year. That's to be expected - but what you're getting at is leasing a vehicle without the responsibility of being an (almost) owner-operator.
