I'm in Van Horn, TX on the way to Cali, but don't have the hours to get there in time.
Waiting on company response. -
They should let you T-Call it if you don't have the hours. I am in Charlotte delivering. On my way to get my own truck in Raleigh, NC. Hope it is in good shape. Should get by the house in a day or two to move all my stuff in and get it ready for a four or five week "tour of duty".

What is PAM's starting pay for new drivers? Still have all auto's? Getting good miles?
Thanks....... -
The pay thing can change at anytime. Ask a recruiter. I am starting out at .26 a mile minus 5% that the company is holding back because of bad economic conditions. Better than going belly up like some other companies have recently. Their trainers are getting spanking new Cascadia 10 speeds (if they want one). Everybody else gets the auto shifts. I am in Raliegh,NC. Picking up my truck. It is a Century that was in the shop having a blown head gasket repaired, among other things. After inspecting the thing, I found that the A/C didn't work, and the mattress in the sleeper was worn out. To the company's credit, they put me up for the night in a hotel while everything is being fixed. It should be ready sometime tomorrow afternoon. Then all I need is a load to get me by the house so I can put the rest of my gear on it. When I was doing my "refresher" thing with my trainer, we got very good miles. I'm about to find out how good they are for solos.

now I'm between Amarillo,TX and Layfayette, IN.
I stopped at a T/A in Mt. Vernon, MO for the night.
So far as I know I'm getting .25/mile with about $70 per week being kept for school payback and something else.
Banked a little better than $400 last week.
Last run was a 1200 miler, this one a bit over 1000.
Long as they keep running me I'm a happy camper.red_house Thanks this. -
I am an ex PAM driver, after working there for a little over a year and then goin with another company, I would say, You are getting ripped off there.. You do your 1 year, make maybe 20k gross, then they cut your pay 5%....no way, MC Donalds pays better than that.
I wish I could recruit yall to a better company (CRETE SHAFFER) but do the math, better miles and better pay with CRETE and SHAFFER now.. used to barely make 400 wk with Pam, now i make a little less than double that with Shaffer, may have to work a little more but at least I can pay my bills now. Just want to tell yall, I am not trying to recruit you, just feel sorry for where your at......PEACE -
The air conditioner took a powder in my truck. I wanted to be home this weekend but took a run to Laredo from Opelousas, La. Coming to Houston from Laredo my ac busted between Sequin and Brookshire.
We'll see what happens now.
I talked to a WEL driver and they sound like a good place to go if I still like OTR after the year.
But if PAM treats me well enough I'll probably stay. -
So far, I have run for two weeks for PAM. Week 1: 2200 miles; 344.00 take home. That is with no advances or student deduction. Next weeks check is probably going to be even smaller. I want to give these guys the benifit of the doubt, but if things don't get better pronto, I will be a former PAM driver too.
