Well I have to be at the motel Tue night dor 7am orientation Wed morning. I will have a load on my way home for a couple of days by Fri. No trainer time at all. Thanks for all the advice and CromeDome I appreciate all the help, it made things a lot easier. I still have a few questions, but I'm sure most of them will get answered at orientation. Will keep you posted and hope to see you out there.

Have the miles out of the Kingsport location improved any since I was there in 2001?
I spent 7 months there, and averaged 1700 miles per week (I keep close track). Zero 3000 mile weeks, and only a handful of 2500 or better. My DM was lazy, though...you just knew it.
Other than that, I really had no issues with Heartland, though their insurance was pretty sorry too. -
I do not know about any terminal accept Columbus. I run into the others allot, but I know that at Columbus the average for my fleet is over 2200. That is on the board in the office.
Kingsport was slow for a while I know, but now I have no idea. I have not seen anyone complain about miles in a while though.
I get over 2000 almost every week, and I am home every weekend.
Asking to stay out weekends does not seem to get me more miles most of the time, so I stopped asking. Most weeks are 2200-2500.
Last 3 sucked, this one is starting ok, but my next load is a 3 stop and showing driver unload. I kind of hope not, but we will see.
Then preset for load after that already. So I will see 1500+ miles paid by Wed afternoon. -
Im in the Columbus Regional and I average about 2100 to 2400 a week. Heartland is a good company, only thing that kills me is the idle policy and the no inverter policy. I just got a new Prostar and even if its 99 Degrees the truck will not idle for no more than 5 minutes.
As for the inverter, I had to buy one of those expensive 12 volt TV's and also a 12 volt charger for my laptop, its gets frustrating. I still don't know why they have that policy because no one seems to know. -
You have to park in a way that the heat will get to the sensor better. It is under the cat walk.
Use to be under the back of the sleeper, but people complained in the winter since the heat of the motor etc would make it not want to idle.
Welcome to our little part of the forums.
I am out of Columbus also. Had a few low weeks, but all were around 2000. This week is looking better.
My dispatcher gets mad at me since he knows I post here but I do not look for referals for him here lol. Only if people come to me and offer. -

You most likely have Kevin, same as me. The others have small fleets.
The planners are very good, but will not tell you about loads on the board in your delivery area. Another one there will.....
When I get the chance to ask him, he always hooks me up. Kevin is not bad but will not stand up for himself or his drivers quite like I think he should at times. Great guy. Just needs to be more assertive.
I got him one so far, since he was all over me about it. Now he wants me to get him one more. After he said he would never ask again lol. -
Yep I have Kevin he always makes sure I get home every weekend and if I wanna be home a little early he doesn't argue with that.

Well we got through that joyful physical test I heard NOTHING about and get my truck tomorrow. Hope to be on my way to the house by Fri night. Then out again Mon Morning. Have a pretty nice FLt Mgr just hope the planner is good to. Well be safe gotta get some rest.

Every company makes you do that physical test not just Heartland , it isn't hard.
