Actually there is a weight limit driving thru Sussex WI. From Highway 164 East to Silver Spring Drive by Quad Graphics. It Is posted 5 tons, and has been weight restricted at least since 1998

You'd be surprised. I went to Roadmaster in Dec of 09 and told them I was going to blog. No problem was the reply. Be careful what you was all the school admin said. I went in for my refresher and they never said a thing.

I mentioned this site to my school and they didnt care or know of it. The average student dosent understand what they are getting into anyway. They are just going for a career change. Its the recruiters that hate this site.

    I'll volunteer my car.

I know RM has heard of the forum but I do not think they pay much attention to it. If they do, they should know current ratio of 5:1 does not help at all when a couple people have SLD. Also make it one week yard and then one week road time so if you mess up in the morning, you can fix it in the afternoon on both the yard and road.

i can see the point, but greencarding foreign drivers requires a significant investment. also, i'm not sure if you traveled a lot...there's nothing quite like american highways. other countries just don't have money to build smth like this. (not talking canada here) it's very hard to re-learn how to drive even 62mph AND follow traffic rules after 30 mph speed limit and traffic bribes instead of traffic rules. so, unless people are already here and used to highways, they are no competition to you.
western europe makes more money then the us. they are not coming to take your job. eastern europe and asia? well, they will need to put ESL school next to their driving school first. trucking is not microsoft, india and china are not particularly excited to drive trucks, while there is dell, boeing and microsoft

Go to any large truck stop and listen to all the languages being spoken.

It's like the lobby of the freaking UN. Russian, Bulgarian Romanian, Turkish, Pakistani, Indian, Spanish, Latvian, Estonian.

I was getting my truck fixed at the dealer not to long ago and their was six of us in the lounge 2 of the drivers where from the Ukaraine and drove team out of Ohio 1 was a former mexican policeman who told me some facinating stories about Mexico being flooded by illegals from central america on their southern border. 1 was from Romania and spoke 5 different languages 1 was a Kurd from Iraq and had fought and been wounded twice during the Iraq-Iran war in the 80's and came here when saddam started trying to wipe out his people. And 1 was from Texas. Out of 6 drivers only 3 of us had been living here more then 5 years. And I was the only one who spoke without a pronounced accent.( have you heard people from Texas) So I don't know how many jobs are being handed out to people from other countrys, but I do think less American born people are trying to get into OTR or have the driving recorded needed to drive OTR.

The eastern Europeans make good money here compared to their home country. They flooded the western european trucking industry because they would work for a lot less than local drivers.
