Elite trucking school in Hillsboro Oregon?
If things work out I will be attending that school July 1st thru the ORegon Employment vocational training program. I did take note their class was only 4 weeks and one other company located much further away from me lasted for 6 weeks.. Despite wanting as much training as possible, its not easy driving an additional 50 miles daily 5 days a week..
Any thoughts or feedback?
Anyone know how good this school is.

Im not sure if they are or not however the oregom employment dept approves them as a company they work with for people like me so who knows...
I just want to avoid a degree mill situation with any trucking school. -
When I was 1st considering going to a truck school I was originally debating between Elite and IITR. I wanted to go to Elite since I live in Hillsboro and didn't feel like driving to Clackamas, but after doing some research I decided to roll with IITR and I do not regret it. They are accredited which is a huge plus since trucking companies prefer that, they have been in the area for over 20 years and you'll do alot more than just driving TV HWY.
We have a person in our class that comes every day from the coast and for me it is about a 40 min drive from Hillsboro. -
Yea sadly I may never know as I can only afford the one closest to me

Let me tell you about Elite Truck Driving School...My son, through Voc Rehab went to Elite..One day before graduation, kicked him out...He has a Learning Disorder, and they were not willing to cut him any slack whatsoever. It took him time to get his CDL permit, but they weren't interested.. Took the money and ran him out of class. They are smucks....DON'T RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL. He wasn't the only one either, they kicked out some foreign national also.

I had a very good experience with Elite trucking school and I too went thru a program with the employment department.
However several of the trainers are no longer there and the main guy who talked to me about the school has since died THUS I can say how its changed but judging by your post it would seem your son and I had same trainers.
They helped me find work and over all I liked them. -
unclehams, sounds like things worked out for you. Congratulations on that. How many driving hours did you get in with Elite while you were there?
Did you place with a good company? Stay safe out there.
