So he was getting driven home.
Was his boy friend at least giving him a reach around?
Shifting his stick shift
I know I'm a sick puppy.
I do apologize. Just in one of those moods today.
Sorry -
Oh man. 193 times? That is pure unadulterated rage coming out. And believe it or not, I'm not throwing stones at anybody here.
I've witnessed far too many domestic violence situations to take any of this lightly. I'm not really sure that justice was served in this case. There is such a thing as justifiable homicide, and there is such a thing as temporary insanity. Now not knowing the ins and outs of this case, it is hard to make a call, but I really wonder.
I've seen more than one man being the "actual victim," and then being a "victim of the system," get locked up when it should have been the woman locked up. I knew one little Mexican guy who was married to a VERY L A R G E Piute woman. She kicked his arse on a regular basis, but it was always him that was getting arrested. . .
I had one case in which I arrested a woman for stabbing her husband. The (female) deputy DA that caught the case "dismissed it out of hand," because when she talked to the suspect, the suspect said she was "defending herself from an abusive husband." Now I had done a thorough investigation, had statements from both of the kids in the house and the neighbors as to what happened. This woman was an alcoholic and very violent when drunk. Anyway, it turns out that the female deputy DA was an ongoing victim of domestic violence herself, and was not operating on all cylinders here.
But I have seen so much serious injury in these cases that it just makes me shudder to think about it. Something else that a lot of folks don't realize is the amount of domestic violence that takes place in homosexual relationships. The most violent ones that I have seen have been this type of relationship.
Usually there is a clear pattern of "victim" and "abuser." Usually, as Judi said, the "victim" no matter what the sex, was a victim of abuse as a child. Brought up to believe that anything bad that happened was "their fault," and that they deserved everything they got. So many of these folks have such a skewed view of life, and have no self esteem.
They will make all kinds of excuses for the action of the abuser. They may or may not consciously know that things "aren't right," but they bury that in their own mind.
Back in the dark ages, the first several years I was in law enforcement, there was little that cops could do. The way the law was written, you couldn't hook up the offender, unless the victim was willing to "press charges." Often times the only solution was to "separate" the parties. Send her to her mom, or send him to a motel. Whatever.
I can't count the number of times I've hooked up a scroat, hauled him to jail, only to have the wife come in and "drop charges." I've also had the wife swear that she wanted "that dirty ### #### ### of a ##### arrested!" So get him hooked up and start out the door with him.
Suddenly she is realizing that he has to go to work tomorrow, that if he misses another work day for any reason they will fire his worthless arse. She knows what their financial situation is, and they desperately need the money, so she changes her mind right then.
Then the laws were changed. Cops can make a decision on the spot and hook up either or both parties in a domestic violence situation. OK, wonderful. So you hook the person up, take him/her/it to jail. He/she/it makes bail within a few hours, goes home, and goes right back to beating on the other one.
So the law, in all its brilliance came up with a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) that the cops can make out and "serve" on the suspect right then and their. It has the full force of the law behind it.
Wonderful thing. Except when he ignores it and goes back to beating on her again. Sure, it's another charge against him. At a later time. But totally worthless in the immediate situation.
I sure don't know what the answer is. . .

Sounds kind of like my sicko 2nd husband....only mine's so disgusting it's not worth telling details. Suffice it to say that if you're going to cheat on me, at least choose your own species.

She deserves the jail time.
200 stabs is not a clean kill. She "enjoyed" that.
I would never trust a person like that again. Damaged beyond repair. -
OMG!
Please Injun, we don't NEED to hear anymore!
