Stop and think how it would feel to have to give that office the once over every morning in the form of a PTI and hope that you caught everything, god forbid a pen or piece of paper is out of place, that's an unsecure load resulting in points on your CSA rating, how about your flourescent bulbs, flickering a bit? Unsafe equipment, again resulting in your CSA rating going up, and god forbid you didn't get your required 10 hours before returning to the office this will result in a driver fatique failure once again raising your CSA rating, at this rate you'll be out of a job by the end of the dayJust thought you might enjoy this point of view on things, trucking is great and I enjoy it everyday, but to be honest with you my stress level has went way up in the last few years, better be on your best behavior at all times and make sure the equipment you're driving and pulling down the road is acting up to par as well.
what about women drivers.

Some companies will not allow couple teaming unless they are husband and wife. Covenant will train 2 people in the truck at same time (whoever they are).
But I don't recommend this company cause they don't pay well, their trailers are bad, they are very disorganized, etc, etc, etc.

There are quite a few companies that offer training where you will stay together. As much as I hate to open myself up to the wrath of others CRE offers this training. Just bear in mind that 3 to a truck sucks, 2 men and 1 women you will be wrong all the time.
You would be better off to get training anywhere other than a cdl mill company. If my husband had no experience I would have been screwed. I got my license but he has taught me 10 times what training did. -
When I was shopping companies, many of them proposed the idea of running teams with my wife. Training would have either been in an in-company CDL program or reimbursed at like $100 a month if done through somewhere else, much like many of the companies offer drivers today.
However, every one of them told me that, if I had experience, they would let me be here on-the-truck trainer for her so that she never had to deal with being stuck with a stranger.
This was 10 years ago, so things may be different now, but it was so common that I'd have to imagine there are still companies that offer it. -
Hi Wish. My Wife is in the same boat as you. The thought of my wife spending 60-day OTR with a strange dude is not a option. I recall force teaming with another new driver my first time around OTR. My Ex-Teammate picked up a hooker and followed her to a roach motel in (The Hood). I woke up to the sound of thugs trying to break into the cab. I don't want my wife to learn about driving big truck like this.

Good Luck Wherever You End Up & Stay Safe Out There!southernpride Thanks this.
