Not necessarily... you could "deliver" with a dump truck. I really can't see my shaker doing a 100% grade loaded or not - not that I've tried!

Yeah I almost pissed myself when that came over the radio. I was still laughing when I got to the top. Made that slow grind go pretty quick.

####, these posters ought to be featured in the "Crusty Demons Of Dirt" videos, judging by these "percentages." Here in Dago County, S-22 offers a long 8% grade with plenty of hairpin curves on it... if you want to put a protractor on it, I'm sure you can find a "40% grade" somewhere on Laurel Street in San Diego. The last time I saw a "40% grade" was while riding a dirt bike up "Bearkiller" (wait, that was actually a 70+% grade, especially right up there near the top---f_____ hill nearly went vertical). ####, just thinking about it brings up memories... the hill is long gone now (sacrificed to development years ago), but I'd love to travel back in time and see some of these heroes drag a loaded wagon up Bearkiller, "no problem."

9%, forget where. I know I've been on some backroads that were unsigned (TX 349 between Sanderson and Dryden/US90).

I'm sure the one grade was well over 15%. Scared the piss out of me. Was in 4th and was going too fast downhill with the jake on.

chiriaco pass on i-10 between chiriaco summit and indio/coachella. man, that was something else. i thought i was going to smoke my brakes going down that thing! that other pass on i-8 between san diego and el centro. that is one steeeeeep mofo! it's totally *impossible* to keep the truck at the max truck speed limit of 35mph down that entire thing! that was another brake burner!

R U Kiddin'..? That's my Home 20, the grade down I-8 from the hill to the desert, and that 35 m.p.h. limit is often disregarded by heroic drivers with bad attitudes. Oh, well, SOMEBODY has to do it, yeah? You're less likely to kill a wagonload of kids when you're actually concerned with obeyin' the law on steep-### grades, yeah? 'Nuff said.
