Hi all,
The open roads of America are the backbone upon which our modern society has grown. With the boundless miles of raw concrete that blanket the North American landscape, stories and legends alike, both real and otherwise, are all but certain to exist. Its simply a matter of finding them.
We are a small group of paranormal investigators looking to collect information on what we feel may be the largest, and perhaps most interesting, untapped source for paranormal activity, that of which is experienced by truckers, highway patrol, and other groups that frequent North Americas highway system.
We are looking for stories related to local legends, ghosts, UFOs, bigfoot/sasquatch, synchronicity, and anything beyond the realm of normal. Aside from the story itself, please let us know the details of when it happened, where it happened, and if possible, anything unusual that may have led up to the event.
What we are looking for:
- Any sort of paranormal experiences you may have had while on the road, or at a stop. Or perhaps youve heard of something unusual from fellow drivers?
- What were your thoughts on the incident? Do you feel there was a paranormal
- Aside from the story itself, please let us know the details of when it happened, where it happened, and if possible, anything unusual that may have led up to the event.
- Please also leave a way to contact you should we want further information. You dont need to leave a number, or anything overly personal. An e-mail address will also do just fine.
We thank you in advance for sending your story to us, and we can promise that every submission will be read and well do our best to follow up. We also promise that your story will be taken very seriously and will not be subject to any ridicule.
Take care and safe driving!

This turned out to be paranormal but I didnt know it until later. It was on HWY 30 in PA. Highway is a curvy 2 lane road and not recommended for trucks but it it quicker. I came around a curve and came upon a bridge and there was a young girl (around 2 or so) standing at the side of the bridge. I swerved to the left lane and it dawned what would a young girl be doing standing there at this time of the morning. (around 2:00am). I pulled over to the shoulder the best I could and walked back to her.
I asked her name and she told me , I asked her what are you doing here and she pointed behind her. I looked over behind us and I could barely see an overturned car at the bottom of the ravine there. I ran down there and there was a couple in the car , both unconscious. I went back to the truck , grabbed my bar (I use it on tightening straps on a flatbed), called 911 and headed back to the car. I broke the windshield out. Got the guy out and thats when the paramedics and the state police showed. They got the woman out, you could tell she was very very pregnant.
They sent them out by ambulance, and the state trooper was taking a statement. He says, 'm surprised you could see that car way down there",.... I told him I didnt , their daughter was standing by the bridge, that's why I stopped.
He radioed the ambulance, the ambulance radioed back, the couple says we don't have a daughter.

You should listen to Coast to Coast AM...... There's always truckers calling in with stuff they've seen.
I can't say that I saw anything paranormal. I saw a bunch of dollar signs in the road one day, but it turned out to be a mirage.motocross25 and j76ny Thank this. -
I had an experience that scared the crap out of me, I was driving one night through Arizona on hwy 40 we all know how dark it can get through there and all at once all these lights came on right above me and it was a perfect circle of lights. I swear it. I woke up my boyfriend and called my mom. I was really scared lol I know it sounds silly but it was really weird.

I have heard a nearly exact version of musicmaker's story, except it was a son(rather than daughter) and it occurred in Tennessee.
I am not trying to discredit musicmaker, for he may have indeed experienced this, but hearing different versions of it over the years could lead to one of two possible conclussions:
A)This is a common way for spirits to assist their living relatives, or
B)The same story gets distorted the more it is recirculated
Just a matter of time before somebody brings up the screaming woman on Highway 5 in Alabama who jumps on your cab step looking for the trucker that either:
A) Killed her in a head on collision
B) Killed her husband in a head on collision and she died of heartache
C) Killed her entire family in a head on collision
D) Got her pregnant and never came back(I just threw that in)
In some versions the driver was pulling a flatbed trailer and she only bothers flatbed drivers, sometimes she supposedly jumps on the trailer, rather than the cab. I don't know how this helps her identify the driver unless she peeks in the rearview mirror.
This story seems to have dropped off considerably in recent years. One explanation could be that since US78 has finally been completed around Jasper, Hy 5 is no longer a viable route for through traffic.
My theory(if I actually believed any of this) is that she simply gave up, figuring the driver is dead or retired by now. I first heard the story about 30 years ago and it had been around a while by then, so he would have to be quite an elderly truckdriver by now. Maybe she simply forgave him.
I know one thing, this is giving me some story ideas. -
Saw one on TV last night that intrested me. We've had a few odd thing's happen around the house as we've lost many family member's in the past but also live directly aross the road from a grave yard but this was about Clinton Rd. in N.J. Something worth checking out.

[QUOTE="If at first you don't succeed, blame someone else!" [/QUOTE]
I love that.
As far as paranormal activity I was running with my friend and stopped at some shady truck stop off of interstate 37 going towards corpus.....He fell asleep and I was about to as well....Then I heard some agressive knocking on the passenger door as i was sleeping in the passenger seat...I looked out and below and I saw a lot lizard with red glowing eyes and vampire teeth and I hollered to my friend back in the sleeper and woke him up and i then looked back and she flew over the cab and took off in to the dark black night...true story

one time i was in my 4 wheeler on the way to the liqour store...before imbibing....and saw a triangle of 3 lights high in the sky. it stayed in the same place for a couple hours after i saw it, then it started slowly descending..what the hell...
Another time, SAME WEEK, no liqour involved, i saw a blue light fall from the sky. What the hell man! -
Interesting topic to say the least.
For a few "hot-spot" locations I'd suggest: State Rd. 60 from the Turnpike Interchange to Indian Lake Estates in Central Florida. Another is Alligator Alley in South Florida, from Hwy 29 to Exit 101. Lots of paranormal sightings, IE: ghost images, car wreck mirages, strange light "orbs" day and night, reported by credible citizen drivers and truckers.
I responded to several of these type calls in both areas when serving as a State Trooper in Fla. All went unexplained, but were documented multiple times over the years. Both are lonely stretches of roadway where significant death statistics have been recorded over the years.
I've also heard Wytheville, VA was a hot-spot for UFO sightings in the late 90's by truckers traveling between TN and VA via I-81. While some have been reported incorrectly as "first hand", there are quite a few that were reported to DOT and other State Agencies as "credible-witnessed-investigatable", drawing the interest of Federal investigative authorities ... which means we'll never hear the results of their investigation, even through the FOIA.
Good luck with your investigations.ParanormalWitnessTV, kickin chicken and Baack Thank this.
