I stated online first. Truck stops do sell name brand radios. I know that not everyone knows who has the best online or mail order deals. I've never purchased a radio at a truck stop in my 42 years on the radio. Nor will I pay someone to peak tune or wack pack my radios. Like many drivers do.

Yes, they cost $19.99 at RS. And they are of better quality then Hustlers 102". Meaning that Radio Shacks 102's don't flop around like some others. I even use them for my HF radios.

i have to browse radio shack again.....

so many choices.... the same goes for the power options..

Some truckstops around central california could be hit and miss as far as finding good selection of antennas.....

Yes...well at least you used to....best thing to do is look up the p/n online and then call the local Rat Shack and ask if they have it. Most of them working there wouldn't know what that 9 foot cardboard tube sitting in the back was for, but they can sure sell you a cell phone with all the minutes quicker than Johnny lightning.

And if you can't get it from the Rat Shack, MFJ sells a 108 whip that is adjustable and tunable. i have one now.

Yes truck stops sell name brand CB radios, but they usually are overpriced The CB's at the truck stop are for the OTR trucker who's radio just died on him in the middle of a long haul.

what i did in my car was go through the cig lighter there wasnt a big problem with noise but hard wired to the battery would be way better.
i used a wilson 1000 antenna and an original cobra 29 works fine.
