What gets me is all the people who are boycotting BP and going to Shell or Exxon or some other brand instead. They are all the same. It could have happened to any of them. It was just dumb luck it was BP's rig that blew up. If it had been one of the other oil companies, we'd be in the same postion now.

....and the new spoken thoughts on a criminal investigation or possible charges filed is almost a better joke then why we went to war in Iraq!

They also don't realize that they only hurt the private businessman that owns the station, and the companies that own the racks. BP sells it on the open market and unless we stop consuming petroleum BP won't feel it.

there is a great facebook group, 1,000,000 strong to boycott BP, that has to be the most idiotic people on earth.

Watching morons trying to cut a pipe off with hydraulic shears 8" above a FLANGE with 5 bolts holding it together is just TOOO stupid to describe! Anybody besides me notice how quick and easy it would have been to just saw the bolts off yesterday when they were SOOO busy trying to get their diamond saw stuck in the PIPE. They probably will never show pictures of that Flange again but it's too late I saw it!

The shears worked. I am not underwater cutting expert here but I know those types of flanges up on the surface and those bolts would be harder to cut than the pipe.

Shoot any first year roughneck could have told you what to do in the first five minutes of that fire! First don't sink the Rig by pumping water on it for two days with 5 or 6 fire boats! It was doing a great job of holding up that riser and burning off a lot of the oil! Many options were taken off the table by that Bold Fire fighting effort! After they Sank the rig the only option that should have been considered was the blow the BOP off with explosives and scope over the naked pipe with 3or 400 ft of slightly bigger pipe and then kill the well with mud!

Using a shears isn't going to lead to a nice clean cut either!!!

The pipe will be bent and crimped and twisted.
