What do you mean ??? it takes 2.5 days to get to california and about half aday to get a load if not more and then head back to the east coast ! how many miles are you getting then if 6000 is not enough?? are you solo or team?? it takes about 2900 ((( DISPATCHED ))) miles from boston ,mass to LA , so thats about 5800 a week ,your truck may run more miles but they dont count because they have to be "DISPATCHED" miles ( well thats how it is at prime!!

Yeah, A seasoned team can do more miles, but, you are a newbie with a trainer. 6000 a week is pretty good.

I started with Prime and I could not of been happier. My trainer was awesome and we ran great together. I ran with him for a total on the truck of 93K miles in a little over 3 months.(Jan.10-Mar17) We ran hard and I made him some good money and he definitly showed his appreciation towards me. I didnt pay for one meal while we were driving together.

O that milage comes out to an average of just over 7K miles a week

No problem. I just wanted to join the Corp and do my time and deployments. After 4 years and living through 2 combat deployments one to Iraq and the other to Afghanistan I am done with it. I miss driving but dont regret quitting it for a few years. I had wanted to do this since I was a kid and I figured taking 4 years off to go shoot and blow $H!T up sounded kinda fun. Well it was and I got my T-shirt and learned a lot about work ethics and how to properly present myself. I can tell you though I quit a job when I was 20 making as much if not more money then most people on this site. I was a union electrician in Chicago making 22.83 an hour as an apprentice. I would much rather drive a truck then do that though. I enjoy the job and the lifestyle.

First of all I want to extend my graditude to you for serving in our Armed Forces. Thanks for protecting our FREEDOM. I understand what you are saying about the lifestyle of being a trucker. I think you either Love it or hate it. I have not gone otr yet but have some friends who have and do. And from lengthy conversations and reading on here I believe I am going to enjoy myself. Are their going to be ups and downs absolutely, but that is what makes life interesting. Be safe!!

Lease ops at Prime aren't paid "by-the-mile." It's a 28-72% split of the linehaul revenue, and 100% of the fuel surcharge plus accessorial pay. The fewer miles you run to make your $$$, the better off you are.

They have a new guarantee that you make .95CPM loaded and unloaded every 100K miles ran. Yes they are paid 72% of the load and 78% if they have there own truck and 81% i think it was if you have your own trailer. The trainer I was running with when we were doing 7K+ a week was netting about 7K a week. After his truck and all the other costs I would say he was in the range of hmmm about 1500-2K a week easily. When you get your load on the qualcom it has everything broken down into pay per mile for your 72% of the load and I think I only saw it under 95 CPM once maybe twice. The majority of the loads we hauled were those Lettuce loads coming out of Yuma right across from the USMC air station going out to springfield OH. and then loads from pilsbury in murfreesboro TN to Carson CA. Those loads paid a little over 1.00 a mile. He did pretty good for himself seeing as that money put him through College and is now a RN and working on being a DR
