I was driving through, South Carolina, at least I think it was and there was a small place called "Jacks Barbecue"

If you ever get the chance stop there..they have an excellent special of 2 fried quail, a drink and a side or two for about 10 bucks!

I hadn't had quail before and me being the adventurous spirit that I am I went ahead and got it.

No regrets there what so ever!!!!

That was #### good! And to me it actually tasted better than fried chicken.

I think they have two spots for that place but either way I would say go try it if you haven't. It's well worth it..

I was heading down to Kissimee Florida to drop a load off. I had started off in Mass and drove there and on the way I came across jacks, it was across the street from a truck stop but I can't remember for the life of me which one it was... But if you can find that by all means stop there!!

    Thanks!!
Sounds good. I tried to Google it and only came up with locations in GA....
Quail is a common delicacy, here in the Carolinas, though.

Okay, you were in a truck and from your start point to your stop point, that tells me that you were probably on Interstate 95 in South Carolina. There are truck stops near Florence and of course, the tourist trap and t/s at South of the Border in Dillon.

I have a friend from college days who lives in Pelzer. Yes, that's on the other side of the state but he travels as a sports reporter and knows people in the Low Country ... so, I will ask him if he has direct knowledge or can put word out there that I am looking for Jack's BBQ somewhere in South Carolina off of I 95, next to a truck stop.

    Thanks for your review !

I remember reading on the menu that they had two different locations, and yes I was definitely going towards Georgia. I don't think it was in that state per say but it may have been #### close. All I know is that it was reeeaaaalllll Good!!!!! If I had the chance I'd go back there anytime for that food!!! Quail tastes absolutely better than chicken to me! And your welcome!
