You are obviously too consumed with trying to argue. I am saying that the only way domestic production would equal lower prices was if the government controlled it, which is not a good thing to allow since it is a slippery slope.

Let's get back to the OT.....

I really doubt we can get to the Dream Level that Obama wants in the short term...At least with all of the environmental controls on the new rigs....

You can install fairing, mono's, air tabs...etc......But with DPF's and SCR's on a large bore diesel set at 500 BHP and above...7 mpg is good....

I can get 8 on flats.....But I average 7.......And when I pull grades in the west...I watch the fuel gauge dip.......

But I always run heavy....that's the price for running a Skate....

Unless you can always pull military loads (20K is considered a full load) 46K is the average load.....

Not even close....It's the standard that we have been using for many years and it would be a pain in the ### to try to change.
I know because they tried to change us over in the 70's and it didn't work and there was a ton of resistance to it because it was so unecessary to change....English, American, Whatever, It's just stupid to change for no other reason than some people think it's better.

By the way...No one has ever been able to adequetly explain WHY it supposedly better...Because it's not! It's just different.

I remember the proposed change in the 70's.

However, the thing that baffles me, is that I run Canada alot. I do not see the advantage to the metric system.

In administering drugs in the back of the ambulance we had to be able to convert your weight for instance from pounds back to kilograms for the medicine. It would be easier and far less of a problem for errors if we were on the same system, but I do not agree with mandating it.

Too many things have to be changed.
