Stupid. 3rd call to Progressive (over the course of a few hrs) worked.
So things are back on track. I paid for the insurance in full ($55 savings).

Nice looking ride for a KW:biggrin_25525:
If you you do change the compressor don't forget the orifice:biggrin_255:
If the compressor is bad you may want to pull the old one and try NAPA

When you get the cash I would reflash that ecm to 500 all the time. I hate that having power only when cruise is activated crap. Glad Progressive "got their minds right". Don't pay attention to that bulldog. KW is the way to go. :biggrin_25525:

I almost had given up. But to stem my frustration I went out and cut the lawn. Then came back in and tried calling again. This time it worked. I have nothing against progressive..just need to find someone that will do the research my specific situation required.

Where and how would I get the ECM flashed in Milwaukee? - I agree with it being lame to only have 500HP when on cruise.

don't jack with a/c unless you are prepared to do it right! If you worked for ford you know the nightmares that can come with halfassing an a/c job. If that large compressor is making noise it is probably low on compressor oil/this style has its on crankcase not like the newer sandens. but age plays a factor how long and to what extent has it been making noise. that said... go online or ck with your local KW dealer about a preferred customer card for discounts, last year I bought the same compressor with clutch assembly, 2 expansion blocks, and a drier, for roughly 450.00. find someone that can replace all components and completely flush the system, evacuate and recharge. Chk wrecking yards or the dealer on the glove box, looks like the same one in my 2000 t600. as for the computer uprate find your local stewart & stevenson or detroit deisel shop. The dealer would be a good place to find a glass installer. generally the 2 piece winshields are around 125.00 each installed. Find in your hometown where all the truck repair places are/ they are usually on the east side of town. hope this helps

Several of the lines were replaced 2yrs ago. I am hopeful it is only the compressor ($190) - and then replace the rec/dry and evac/zap the system. Thats in theory...but I think KW still has A/C parts on sale right now. I do have the KW Privilege card and a 'friend' in the parts dept...heck, anything will help when dealing directly with a dealer!

I got some pricing from my contact at KW today..

$41 for each sleeper air bag
$80 for the air leveler switch
    $190 for the AC compressor
$122 for OEM glass or $40 for aftermarket windshield (each)
$415 for a new pedal assembly (no..)
$450 for a new seatbelt assembly (no..)
$225 for a new bumper - not needed, I can straighten the one I have
as it isnt creased and only slightly bent from the deer he hit.

..odd, since some of the stuff I had expected would be cheap wasnt and vice-versa.

Of course she asked me if I needed any CHROME... "We got lotsa CHROME JD"

    :biggrin_25524: - cah ching!
