I'm looking for a good trucking company that will hire a newbe right out of Sage driving school. That will get me home every one or two weeks. I live in Port St. Lucie, Fl

    Thanks Dave :toothy7:

I thought Sage was supposed to help you find a job? Oh, and did you find Sage's training to be worth the money? I'm considering going there.

Sage will help you apply to any company, though I know what you mean (written elsewhere) that you don't want to work for a company like CRST. There are certain companies who actively recruit through sage, but not all of them would be worth working for. The home every one or two weeks is going to be the tough part. If you are firm on that, you need to find local or regional work. Your local SAGE office is the best resource for this. About half the companies recruiting at the SAGE I went to are local. Just be prepared to accept lower wages for that type of work.

You might check out Kamp Trucking near Melbourne. It's reefer, I believe, but a local company would be best at getting you home often. -Dave

Three to four weeks would not be too bad for the right pay.

Well in that case, you need to check out Roehl ("rail"), Crete and CFI. All three appear to be great companies to work for, OTR. Hometime is not guaranteed, but you should make pretty decent money and good benefits. If you want to pull flatbed or reefer, Crete has divisions for that. I think Roehl does, too. All three could hook you up for dry van OTR work I believe. You'd have to see what their hiring areas are. But if possible, put in apps. to all three and see who bites. You might also want to put in an app. for Schneider as kind of a fall-back position.

Hint: Do hardcopy applications, and have the school fax them in for you. You will get better results that way. If you don't have hardcopy application, download one online or call the company and have them fax the application to the school. --Dave
