He was seen drinking out of a beer bottle... which doesn't necessarily mean he was drinking beer from a bottle. Heck, I remember filling whatever container was handy from water fountains when the kids were little and wanted a drink to take with them.

When my kids were young I let them try my beer
The same thing my dad did when I was young, and he is a great man
I don't see this as a big issue except that it looks like miller light :biggrin_25526:

what we have is a generation of people who grew up with how horrible it is to drink and it reacts a ghastly when they see a child drinking from a beer bottle, Crying child abuse or neglect, I remember when My grandfather would also give me sips from his bottle, when I was that age and then laugh because I thought it tasted so horrible, did I become a drunk ...no I hardly ever drink. I mean really how many remember drive through bars and vending machines selling ####tails left unattended. Oh and who knows I am sure mom and dad or uncle may have seen the child and removed the beer bottle from him, but that I am sure didn't get seen.

My parents allowed me to drink as well. I never liked beer, so as a treat my mother would mix some sloe gin in with 7-Up for me... and I loved it. My mother escaped the alcoholism that affected her mother and both her siblings. And interestingly, although she never forbid any of her children to drink or smoke, none of us do.

I don't fully understand addictions, but I'd like to think that by not making alcohol and cigarettes "forbidden fruit", she took away a lot of the perceived allure and taught us instead of make responsible choices.

This kid is surrounded by adults,4 of them are females that I can see in the picture.
Im guessing its water in the bottle, and everyone around the child knew it,or someone would have said or done something about it,even in Philly.
