Help with making a choice on what trucking company.

    Hey: Everybody
    This is my first post.
    I just want to say hello to all.
    I have been reading a lot of post and have learned a lot.
    I would like to ask for some help.
    I am a newbie, you know just went to trucking school. I have CDL class A with Haz-Mat, Tanker, D.& T.
    My (?) to all of you is, if you had to make a choice on
    which company to start out at, knowing what you know now. What one would you pick?

    It seems like just about all the big companies run a lot of trucks through where I live. I guess that is good as far as possible home time. I live off exit 81 on I-24 southeast of Nashville (near Murfreesboro). Is there some companies I should focus on that would allow decent home time, decent equipment (gotta have apu or generous idle policy) and they take rookies. Not askin' for much :biggrin_25523:

    I have live in Florida for over 30 yrs. and I have a place in North Carolina. I do have some offers from US Express, Star, Covenant, Stevens, and I think any of the big company will probably take me. I order my DAC report, and it does not have anything on it. I have not had any tickets in about 10 yrs. I would prefer to work for a small company. But I don't know of any small companies that will take recent graduate with no experience. If any of you do, please help.

    Driving by on 65 I see alot of trucking companys hiring in the Nashville area. Plus out towards Murfreesboro you have that big furniture outfit.... whose name escapes me thanks to a senior moment.... big black Volvos and trailers. Hear alot of good things about them.
