Ok... I have read all the "don't get into trucking now" threads and the "pay for your own school" threads. BUT, in some peoples situations that is not feasible. I am single with no family and willing to do the time for a year, but now my decision is as follows.

Team driving with PAM (more stable?)

    OR

    Solo with USA Truck

I am a non smoker and I also do not know if I am that thrilled with sharing a small space with another driver on a permanent basis.

What is teaming like for you? What do you like and not like about it?

    Thanks!!!

So If I read between your lines then teaming with PAM would probably be preferable or USA?

I live in NW Alabama, so that probably would not work. (LOL) It looks like I will be starting school on the 28th of this month.

When I drove team, I got along great with my partner, we shared a lot in common, he would have me over for dinner on off time with his family. We stayed friends for many years afterwards.........But I hated the whole team experience.

Try sleeping in a rolling truck going thru MT or even NY. This is not the training type of team where the trainer sits besides you, this was an eleven hundred mile a day every day type team, showers and hot meals optional.

    Think about it.

    Safe miles,
    Larry

Thank you very much Larry for your honest response. That is my concern. I would most probably get along with my Team member, BUT I do not know if I am really that into sharing that small space. I am kind of a lone/independent person as it is, which is why truck driving appeals to me. Also, how does teaming work with deciding when to go home? I could and would probably want to stay out longer than most due to not much family. I am sure there are also occasions that a team member might not be as motivated, careful, or thorough as the other and I do not want to end up with one of those. I guess in a way I am looking forward to controlling and being responsible for my world and no one else.

    Thanks Again...
