If Aunt Jane had balls, she would be Uncle John. :)

First most camara's are on the walls behind you with most likely other trucks beside you blocking the side view if any. They are not zooming in so identity is impossible.

I seen drivers sleep in the driver seat.

You can take the rules and read between the lines if you want. I'm not that scared. The bottom line of all these rules is to keep the roads safe.

By the way my lawyer found that your lawyer was busted for pot in his college days and found his testimony unreliable. :biggrin_2559:

There's the way that they teach and then there's the right way...There's a substantial difference between the two.

I've actually seen some idiots that honk the horn right next to a truck with a driver sleeping in it....And you're right there is a way do do it legal without being a moron about it and getting all caught up in the minutia of the exact letter of the law...For instance, I usually give my horn a little toot after I leave the parking spot and before I hit the street so as not to bother someone sleeping nearby.
I didn't always do that but I was being inspected about 20 years ago and when the guy told me to honk the horn it didn't make much noise and he let me check it real quick because he heard the air trying to get out and figured it was minor...It was, The horn worked fine after I dug the dead bird out of the trumpet where it was jammed in so tight that I had to dig it out with a screw driver.

I'm constantly checking my truck every time I stop I do a quick walk around and thump the tires and look at the lights to make sure they're working. I do a pretty thorough pre-trip every morning and a good post trip after I park for the night...I never worry when I see a scale open for business because I know my equipment and paperwork are squared away.

    Oh no!

    I'm in for it now!

What's a member of the month?
    Is it a paid position?
    Does it come with perks?
Do you get cool window stickers for your truck?
Do you get a guest shot on Good Morning America and get to sit next to Matt Lauer?

    Enquiring minds want to know!!!:biggrin_2558:

I hope you weren't referring to me. I didn't mean that you couldn't log line 2 in the front seats, i was just trying to point out that you can log line 2 to do anything in the sleeper...even if you're working....it doesnt say "off duty in sleeper" vs "on duty in sleeper"... ;)

Honestly this line 1 vs line 2 thing is ########. It's a holdover from back when you first started driving, and you had to sleep in a #### coffin. I think we should be able to officially log line 1 + split break on line 1 in a modern truck to kill this ########, and just kill line 2 all together..

One bill of lading with one shipper address on it..no point wasting the ink. ;)
Line 15. On duty, Driving, not thinking. (applies to most people these days!)
or this one applies to me a few hours ago...
Line 16. Dropping a deuce in the ditch. lol...

I understand there is a difference between the rules and reality.

Isn't this thread a question about the rules?
Can someone just go to the Rulebook and look it up???
    The legal definitions are clear.
Can someone do some cut and paste To clear up any questions?
Due to technical problems i am unable to do so.
