Compared to Swift, how is the money for a new hire/recent grad? Will SNI pay you back for school costs after a certain amount of time? Anyone know of any other company that offers CDL training too. I only want the good ones please.

Roehl Transport has a driving school. I went through them. There you can get
credit with them and after driving a certain amount of miles they forgive the loan. If you don't go with them or quit or get fired you have to pay them back a pro-rated amount.

SNI pays recent grads .26 for the van division and I believe .30 or .32 for the bulk (tank) division right out of school. They recently had a lot of cuts and are not doing tuition reimbursement. Although, there are talks that they will be starting the school back up soon because of driver shortage. Whatever school you decide to go to to get your cdl be sure and ask all the tough questions up front. I know Roadmaster will try and sell you a pipe dream. They make it seem like all you have to do is get a pre-hire with a company and the rest is taken care of. They forget to mention that if your credit is shot that you might have to put down $1000. Roadmaster is also probably one of the most expensive around. I know swifts' school is cheaper but the best route is a community college or trade center. Generally they are about $1500 or less and you don't have to be stuck signing contracts. Only downside to it is most programs last 6 weeks or more. I'm interested to know what you decide. Keep me posted.

The tanker division starts you out at .32 and after 6 months I believe the pay goes up to .32. Talk to a recruiter and they can verify this information. There is talk of the tuition reimbursement being brought back as well. If they do it won't be until later in the year. Keep us posted as to where you end up.
