Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Welcome to the site, as much as it kills me too say this look into Millis also.....Somebody correct me if I'm wrong but I think Millis has a training school down that way ?????
***I drove for that bottom feeder back in '93 and left on bad terms thus my dislike for Millis....
good luck.....GP -
Prime is another... you'd probably train out of Springfield MO.

Again, welcome to the site, If you have any type of a local or Community College I would highly suggest that you do that, I am going to my local community college here and am very much enjoying what I am learning, There are all kinds of payment processes, If you qualify then the schooling will be paid for, I would not suggest that you go to any of the companies that will have you locked in until you repay the bedt for the schooling.. They will take big advantage of you. I hope this helps. TD.

So then you understand that after training, if you stay with Prime for only one year, the whole dang cost is forgiven. In other words, you get a CDL and a year's experience for free - while being paid some of the best wages a newb can make in the industry.truckerdaddy24 Thanks this.

I've never heard of Millis.I'm going over their site now.Thanks.

Prime has ripped off alot of people I knew. What i'm trying to do is avoid leaving out of state...if it can be help. This way I could drive to and from training without adding expenses.
-
Yeah i've been searching for those. But they seem to be out of reach to me.There's plenty of them in surrounding states. All I can see is that we mostly have is trucking schools. They usually want most of the money upfont or some crazy financial aid options
-
this is what i've read on millis site "Today, our schools in Ohio and Wisconsin schools are State Qualified schools, while the Georgia location remains a private school specifically for Millis Transfer Inc."is this bad?say if I want to drive with another
company? -
Really? I suppose that can happen with any business, but I'd be interested in the particulars if you'd take the time to describe them. Prime gets a lot of bad press, but most of those stories have another side to them as well.
Good luck to you wherever you land.
