I have a 1995 wia64tes Volvo truck and the A/C blows cold air but not enough to cool the truck when your going down the road. I had the gas checked and its normal. When the truck sits still it cools fairly well but seems to warm up when I go down the road. Is there a filter somewhere in the cab that I should change? If there is could someone tell me where to look.

    Thanks

Adjust the door pins inwards to cab. Check the door seals. Make sure all the seals/gromets on the fire wall are good. It sounds like the cold air is being sucked out of the cab. Make sure there is insulation around the exhaust pipe(s) if there under the cab. Check under the passenger side rubber flooring and make sure it is not wet. Water transfers heat, some times the drain tube for the a/c evaporator stops up with dirt. Last check the evaporator to see if it full of junk leaves, bugs etc. good luck.

Check to see if you have lots of air coming out of the vents when the blower switch is on high. If not, it's possible that either the cab filter(if it has one) or the evaporator is pluggged.
This can cause the system to freeze up. Turn your A/C on to full blast in the recirculate position, turn your engine fan on manual, and set your engine rpm up around 1300.
    Pop the hood
There should be 2 lines going through the firewall. They should both be relatively cool/ cold to the touch.(one more so than the other)
Keep an eye on these lines as the compressor runs through a few cycles.(you should be able to hear it kick in and out)
The lines should build up with condensation on the outside(depending on humidity and temp.)
If this condensation freezes at any point, she's freezing up.
Good luck and hope this helps

I don't know about that model year, but my '07 has an airfilter for the heat/ac system. If it is plugged it would reduce the performance of air thru the system. I'm always amazed at how much crud mine catches, glad I'm not breathing that junk!

Check that the heater valves are fully closing.. Sounds like you're getting warmer coolant circulating when you take off.. Going down the road the a/c should get cooler otherwise..

If it's drafting that bad seems the wind noise would be terrible..
Just light one up while you're truckin and it should be lookin like Cheech & Chong in there pretty quick with the windows rolled up.. :smt033

make sure your condenser is getting enough airflow, it might be plugged up creating less of a pressure difference. If both of the lines at the firewall are warm and hot (one each) to the touch then thats most likely your problem.
