scr is proven tech in europe, itll get better mileage because engine doesnt need to be emissions tuned, emissions are burnt in exhaust

the paccar -cat high pressure injection with multiple injection pulses, its ok, butt it takes its toll on all the injection parts, especially if you are getting a little dirt in there every now and then. putting a 40,000 psi pump on a truck every year and a half aint emissions friendly if thats where it goes

lol, scr is the new emissions control on all engiens except the paccar- international - cat engine which uses high pressure injection with multiple pulses.

scr is where you put urea def thats diesel exhaust fluid in a separate tank , you use about 2 gallons for every 100 gallons of diesel used

the post concept is that the scr is bettercause itll allow engines to be tuned for mpg alone not mpg and emissions

the high pressure inj is risky till it proves that it holds up, alittle dirt is 5 times worse in a high pressure
(20,000 psi plus) inj system. it eats em alive, like THE BLOB!!!!!

((emergency edit !!!!!)) --- try googleing scr and paccar high pressure injection

    A) PACCAR does not have a partnership with international/cat
    B) PACCAR uses SCR on all trucks, all engines
    C) DAF (PACCAR) has been using multi-pulse injection for many years. Most modern diesel engines use a multi-pulse injection system.
    D) All diesel engines require high injection pressures. Modern "higher" injection systems improve efficiency. The boost in pressure between what is required and what is being run today would not increase the lifespan of injection systems at all.
    E) Water does more harm than dirt. Dirt doesn't make it through the fuel filters specified by the engine manufacturers. Water will if the driver does not drain the separator.
    F) No engine company has been experiencing a higher injector or pump failure than previous engines.
    G) The engine is a fundamental piece of the emissions system. You can't just strap an aftertreatment system on a truck and expect it to meet emissions.
    H) Navistar (International) is using an EGR system from MAN to meet 2010 emissions, not "high pressure injection"

all true, the maxxforce 11 and 13 were MAN engines used in Europe and are no way shape or form any derivative or have any association with Caterpillar. The Maxxforce 15 is a Cat derivative but MAN/Navistar engineered. CAT will be using all 3 of internationals Big Bore engines in there vocational truck line(re badged International)

    was thinking of navistar cat,

is everyone on this forum a cut n paste 14 year old?
he even gets his mom to post all true for him. lol, twice

40,000 psi inj lasts as long as 2500 , lol ok

scr isnt bolt on system lol ok

10 micron fuel filters never get dort thru them lol ok.

everybodies reliabilty is the same as always lol ok

4-6 micron dirt does the most damage, go cutnpaste oil analysis info
the dirt gets in the filters from careless handling before install
navistar states they need ulta high pressure inj to run clean enough with egr to meet 2010 regs

all scr systems are bolt ons, you can buy a scr system from pitt power or someone and bolt it on an old truck to run Cal, land of the free home of the brave
its completely independant of the engine

"Water will if the driver does not drain the separator."

this shows me you dont know what your talking about and are just some kid cut n pasting,
all the bouncing around keeps the water from separating out a whole lot,,
when youre driving alot of it does go thru ,
