Did you get a name?
I am sorry you were treated as such. That is not acceptable. I take each and everyone of everyone's post seriously.
I will get with the mapping section at Rand to see what is going on in AZ. I suspect something is not correct in the database.
I do not know how to say this without sounding like I am placing the blame on other companies, but, realize that until a few years ago the navigation world only knew of car navigation devices. Thus even though the mapping companies of which their are two that actually hold the core mapping databases did have truck attributes. Now how much do you think the folks driving cars actually paid attention to mapping errors? Or even reported them? Thus companies get into a warm and fuzzy feeling that all is well. Along comes truck navigation devices and still possibly due to lack of caring nothing really gets reported.
So nothing reported or very minimum, they still have the warm and fuzzy feeling.
The TND pops up on the market and due to Rand getting only Professional drivers, road errors now start showing up. Whom better to know the roads? Rand has lead an aggressive front to get it right. Rand has complied thousands of errors and has aggressively verified each and everyone out. Then corrected the databases. I know of at least 15 errors around where I live that have been corrected. US 321 being a major one.
If the errors are in the main mapping databases, then Rand forwards this information back to the mapping company that supplies the core for the TND.
What you are seeing now in routing errors is not a one day fix. The system was overlooked for navigation devices and now a key player is working to fix it.
What you find in routing errors only makes the mapping database more correct.
Is Rand happy that all this exists - not at all. But, Rand is not sitting by and letting you suffer the brunt of the issue. A new mapping database that is overwhelmingly a breath of fresh air is due out soon. I have not gotten the Beta Version yet, but the mapping section at Rand is daily sending me replies to issues you find. Most of the issues are no longer there as they are now corrected.
So, when you find a routing error or incorrect restriction, by all means report it. I post my E-Mail here and you are most welcome to report it to me.
If you have issues with your TND, you can by all means report it to me. I monitor this thread 7 days a week, almost 16 hours a day. If you run into issues over the weekend,, depending on the issue I usually can get you back up again.
I am not happy until we resolve your issue one way or another.
Thanks again,
Mark

Then go to your start menu and hit computer (my computer).
Look for in a T5B two external drives, in a T5C one external drive.
Find the folder Navimaps. Double click on it. You should see some files starting with DCA. Let me know the dates of those files.

Hi Mark;
Something I find odd is how the TND uses Hwy names and numbers.
I tried to enter a cross between hwy 15 (I think) and 912 (Cline AVE) I gave up trying to enter the cross street because it would not accept hwy 912 in Gary IN. BUT!!!! It will accept it as Cline ave lol. What makes it so funny is once I got routed it calls Cline ave hwy 912/cline and the map shows it as the 912 lol.
Can we have a little more flexibility in selecting roads? IE by name or number? Also if an address is close to a city and the address from the customer says it's in the city, can the GPS accept close vicinities as correct?
When I look at my atlas and I enter cross streets of small towns, the GPS often won't accept the cross streets. This for me would be a great help. Thanks -
Thanks Mark. I will get You those later today. Don't get me wrong. I think the tnd is a great device. That's why I chose it over Garmin. I like RM as a company and I know they have our best interest in mind. I was just completely offended by his comment. RM if anyone should know that a truck driver should never trust anyone's directions 100% not even a 500 dollar piece of hardware. That's how trouble happens. That is my big deal with via points needing to work.
So what I am going to do is try the work around posted above and see how that goes this week. Also I use the tell Rand for every issue I find. Unfortunately I do not remember the support guys name. Lastly, with AZ having so many issues. Let your contact at Rand know if they need a tester for the mapping database only when it goes to testing that I volunteer. -
Mark Kling Thanks this.

Dieselboss....very good review and right on the money as far as the TND500...Thank you!
Mark Kling and Dieselboss Thank this. -
Thanks,

But knowing this I offer my time and efforts to truly bridge the Gap for you. I talk directly to the support department head daily in issues such as listed. I actually got more sleep when I was driving.
I will have to revert a TND with current mapping and run demo routes to see if the AZ issues exists... The mapping department has tried with the new mapping database (being tested still) and unless you are in shortest route you will stay on I-10.
Thanks,
