I got a call from WEl to go to orientation on May 31st. Is this a good company I can't find anything good or bad about them. I also have prehires with a few of the trainer companies, but I would rather not job hop every six months to a year. If any current WEL drivers are out there please let me know something about them Thanks

Any WEL guys still out there? I'm looking for a little info. I'm asking those that just hired on in the past year or so.... Do you still like it there? How is your hometime? Are you getting the miles you need? Are you treated as a human?
-
I started with WEL this spring and have been very happy with them... a few minor hic-ups which were more likely newbie inexperience were overcome quickly. I am home when I want to be, run the miles I want, and everyone is friendly. pay is decent, and I have actually found a nice little chunk of change is available if you are willing to unload, rather than hire a lumper.
The biggest thing is communication... if you arent happy with something, communicate with your DM or the driver relations manager and things will get taken care of. too many guys see something they dont like and walk away, when all they need to do is comunicate. they employ over 500 drivers and everyone is different, and they realize that.Pop Thanks this. -
Thanks Lazygecko. Let me ask you a couple questions. Do you unload by forklift or hand cart? Or do you have to do it by hand? Also do you make it out West much, and if so how often? Thanks again for your time.

I applied Wednesday and they called on Thursday, answered a few questions and sent back forms for a background. So they told me about orientation and the pay, 6 weeks with a trainer. Do you get home during training, and if not what about after training is complete? So lazygecko, what sort of test do they put you through at orientation? Thanks.

Do they let you take the truck home for hometime. I live in AZ

Wasteman when I talked to a recruiter I was told I would have to take the truck home.

I saw a WEL truck cruising NB on I-215 today in Utah. I was glad to see one of thier trucks out here in the West. I was wondering if they ever made it out West I'm excided, scheduled to start Aug 2nd.

Well I got some questions answered, out for 7 weeks to include orientation. I got a prehire today, they offered the 28th. but told them to soon. Will find out about another date tomorrow, but like other's not alot of info, elusive?
-
"Elusive".... That's what I'm wondering. It's said that if you don't hear and bad it could be a good sign. But I'm not finding much on good or bad. I saw a WEL truck at the Flying J in Salt Lake. He didn't answer the door, which I don't blame him. But I just wanted to get some info.... as in details like; How hard is it to get home time?, Are you happy with the company?, How do they treat you? I live in the West so I would like to stay west as I can or at least find out how often a driver makes it West. It would be nice if someone that's been there a couple years could chime in or maybe someone who use to work for them.
I left a note asking him to call me. If he calls me I'll try to get as much info as possible and I'll post here.
